Have They Learned Yet?
By Jennifer King
November 15, 2004
A week after the 2004 election was decisively settled in favor of President Bush, the question begs. Have the liberals learned yet? With a brief blip in the reelection of President Clinton in 1996, the Left has been losing ground steadily since 1994. With each election, Republicans have gained a bit more of a majority while Democrats have slid farther into oblivion. This is true in House and Senate races, as well as in Governorships and in political offices throughout the state level. One would think that this would cause some real soul searching on the Left. So far it has not.
This election was lost on several fronts. John Kerry is an archetypical Boston Brahmin; a snooty, elitist gazillionire far removed from the niceties of modern life and real people. When he fell down snowboarding he blamed a Secret Service agent - notably snapping, "I don't fall down" and saying, "That SOB tripped me". Then there was the laughably staged "Wendy's" lunch, where after suspiciously eyeing the menu and asking "what is that?" in regards to a cup of chili, Ter-A-Zah was able to relax on the campaign bus and eat a more fitting meal - shrimp vandaloo procured at the local Yacht Club. The phoniness just shone through, especially when the legendary anti-gun Senator - in a desperate, last minute lunge for votes - donned borrowed camouflage and waded into a sporting goods store where he asked, "Can Ah git me a huntin' license here?"
Kerry's flip-flopping record - on the war, on funding the troops, on abortion, on national security and U.S. weapons systems - was readily available to anyone with a computer and a sense of curiosity. Also, despite the studious effort made towards ignoring them, the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth were able to successfully cast doubt upon Kerry's "war hero" record while simultaneously bringing out his real, slanderous record as head of Vietnam Veterans Against the War. These stalwart men served their country well - again - on this second front.
The most astounding thing about this election was the no-holds barred collusion between the DNC, the Kerry Campaign and the Mainstream Media. Their bias has now been laid bare, and it is my prediction that this election will prove to be the last gasp of their dying genre. No doubt we will still have to endure their blather, but like the feminists after Clinton, no one will ever take them seriously again.
Over the past several years, we've seen an endless replay of the official Dem theme, "Bush stole the election, Bush lied to get us into war, there are no WMDs, there's no link between Iraq and al-Queda." Oh yes, and let's not forget Halliburton. Every bit of information that has come out has played endlessly to this mantra, whether it was the spate of anti-Bush books, Fahrenheit 911, the daily screaming headlines about Abu Ghraib and Al Qaa Qaa, Dan Rather's forged documents or the election eve Bin Laden tape - which seamlessly parroted Fahrenheit 911 and threatened any state which dared to vote for Bush. Angered by the endless barrage of Bush bashing emanating from self congratulatory Hollywood nitwits and condescending D.C. politicians - on November 2nd, the American people sent a clear message. This idiotic infantilism will be tolerated no more and Bin Laden - you can take a hike.
So, have the liberals learned? Apparently not. On election night the MSM was in full spin mode. Early election polls were said to be leaning Kerry 8:1, which the media reported solemnly as fact before one vote was even counted. When the actual votes came in and looked to be heading for Bush, partisans like Dan Rather refused entirely to concede, even when the other networks were predicting a Bush victory.
November 3rd, with victory unavoidable, the counterspin began. First, the Left tried to blame the election on white Christians motivated by homophobia. This allowed the Left to retain the moral high road while simultaneously absolving them of their need for real introspection. Condescension and arrogance practically dripped off the editorial pages and television screens, with some Leftists going so far as to suggest that the more enlightened Blue Staters should move to Canada or perhaps secede from the Union entirely. The obvious contempt they feel for average Americans and traditional American values like faith, family and love of country is palpable and they seem to feel no need to obfuscate it anymore. They don't seem to realize that this is exactly why they lost. Keep it up, Blue Staters, 2006 and 2008 should be fun.

That was the first problem. They repeated what they did in 1988. So in fact, they have not learned yet and from talking to my GOP operatives, they may not learn. In fact, Pat Caddell said they might have to hit rock bottom.
Think about this; in 2002 they run an awful campaign after 911, complete with democrats visiting Saddam and lauding him. So they get whacked so bad that James Carville put a trashcan on his head. Then just 2 years later they take the same appeasing approach and lost even worse.
Getting sick of the word "homophobia"......I do not "fear" them unless they are bigger than me....who would be afraid of a girly-man, anyway?
You are right, it should be interesting the next few years!
I breen bothered with that one too.
Here's what i found:
Homophobia
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
The term homophobia means fear or hatred of, aversion to, or prejudice or discrimination against, people who are homosexual. It is sometimes used to mean any sort of opposition to same-sex romance or sexual activity, though this opposition may more accurately be called anti-gay bias.
Homophobia is not a psychiatric term. There is no such thing as clinical homophobia, though the phenomenon of homophobia continues to be studied by groups like the American Psychiatric Association and the American Psychological Association. Some studies have linked deep hatred towards homosexuality to repressed homosexual feelings (see "internalised homophobia", below).
For this reason many feel that it is a loaded term.
Notions similar to "homophobia" have legal definitions in some countries, for example in the controversial gay panic defense, a form of insanity defense, or in hate crime legislation.
So, under that definition, I fit the term Homophobic because i have an aversion to the "lifestyle"...
(I wear it proudly)
BTTT
I agree with you, it's all about language.
I wish conservative pundits would quit commenting on what the Left is doing wrong and what they need to change. I don't want them to learn or change anything. I want them to keep losing.
Me, too! Good side is that they will NEVER learn.
