Yeah, the $$ can be quite good. I had my own little service in S. Cal for 10 years and got quite used to making $35 an hour. OTOH, I had no vacations, no retirement program, no health insurance, and much higher taxes to pay. Oh well, at least I was able to work at home around the kids' schedules, so it served its purpose.

I'm still plugging away at it but temping at a hospital for now. I really don't know how MT is going to fare as a career in the next few years, but I guess I'll be "riding the wave" til it crashes since I still love doing transcription!
