Great feat of Seamanship to sail in an open boat over 4000 miles.

He is not considered a great naval commander.

No, it's true. Bligh was a master seaman, but other than that he was a tyrant and a crook.

It's true. Of course, that only makes him one of the greatest navigators of all time. (Up there with Columbus.)
