I don't think TAGS ever really jumped the shark although it did decline some in the last year or so.
BTW I agree with those who thought Miss Crump was a shrew. She probably was ok in real life but I never did warm up to the character. Also agree that Miss Ellie was the toughest girlfriend although Peggy wasn't bad.

The Jump the Shark moment for the Andy Griffith show was when they went to color. That was a big part of it, but the death knell came when "Emmett The Fix-It Man" joined the cast. Ugh. If that poor guy ever had a funny scene I never saw it.
