Specter shows his true colors on the Federal Marriage Amendment. He "publicly clarified that he would have voted against it if it had come up for a floor vote."

Maybe the gay groups were channeling Clinton when they told Specter they were "behind him".

I think he means "flaming".

Cheryl Jacques, executive director of HRC, said ... I expect that if Sen. Specter becomes the chair of the Judiciary Committee we will work with him. I hope he is focused on a fair-minded judiciary and policy for this country and I hope that he comes to regret his vote." IMO, this should be the proverbial "last nail".
Plus, I read a couple days ago that ole Arlen was the chief proponent and Author of the utterly ridiculous "Single Bullet Theory" that the Warren Commission came up with.
(must have had something to do with "Scottish Law")

So lemme get this straight - he voted for it before he had a chance to vote against it?

It was Specter's vote in July ....that nixed the homosexual group's endorsement, even though Specter....would have voted against it if it had come up for a floor vote He voted for it,but he would'a voted against it.They should check the water supply to the Senate offices.

It was Specter's vote in July to send the Federal Marriage Amendment to the Senate floor that nixed the homosexual group's endorsement, even though Specter publicly clarified that he would have voted against it if it had come up for a floor vote. This is exactly what you could expect of Chairman Arlen---vote the judges out of committee, then vote against them.I think Specter should be forced to stand down and prove he will vote for Bush's judges, then maybe consider him for the chairmanship.

HRC, the nation's largest homosexual lobbying group, endorsed Democrat Congressman Joseph Hoeffel this August. Specter had narrowly won his Republican primary against conservative Rep. Patrick Toomey and was hoping for support from HRC. Anybody that wants backing from the queers and fagots in the HRC is no conservative friend of mine.
Specter is a RINO's RINO. He should just change his stripes and be done with it.

So lemme get this straight - he voted for it before he had a chance to vote against it?Exactly what I thought.
Why vote to send it to the floor if you're going to vote against it once it got there? I'm sure the vote was his attempt to appear "moderate" in an election year.
I voted against him anyway.
