An illegal alien Irishman that hangs out in bars all the time? I don't know if the reporter just made him up, but if he's real he should be deported.
NYC is full of bar tenders, carpenters and house painters from Ireland who aren't legal. The late shift at my local bar is permanently staffed by Seans and Brians and Seamuses. If you're going to deport illegals, start with "sand goblins." If we didn't have a politically correct immigration policy, there'd be a lot more Irish here, legally, and the country would be a lot better off.

According to the INS (or whatever it's called today), the largest group of illegal immigrants in New York City is from Ireland. They fly in on tourist visas and never leave. Most work in construction or as bartenders.
