How many Americans can afford to homeschool? Most Americans require two incomes to maintain a middle class lifestyle.
Give me a break! At the peak of our homeschooling we were a family of seven and lived on one income in a very nice upper middle class subdivision. You are what you decide to be as far as economics go. We made the decision long ago to live on my income as we felt it was more important for our children to have a good home education than it was for us to keep up with the Jones family. We attended the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University and as far as money goes, we are heads and shoulders above the rest. You just have to do it and leave it in God's hands. He will manage it for you.
God Bless you and your wife.
Homeschooling is not for us, so we found a good school district and moved to it, and we're very happy.
We are very far from affluent, but I'm sitting outside when the school bus shows up every afternoon, and am here if school is delayed or canelled because of weather and when there is no school. Family dinner at the dining room table (almost) every night...........sort of like when my husband and I grew up.
Good. I wont lobby my congressman to supply aid to homeschoolers - which I used to support until your post told me that such a financial burden for homeschooling does not exist.
