My husband and I were talking about this. I believe I could have taken down my 5 y/o grandson and took the glass away and this kid wasn't all thay much bigger. I've seen kids go crazy and it might not have been pretty but .... The girl however at 12 is in a woman's body and was reported as drunk and running into traffic. He may have saved her life.

I can't see the first one. Was an army mp, cops have a baton either collapsable or side handle a strike to the wrist & short jab to solar plexus situation under control . Both officers need remedial training in unarmed self defense & suspect control tactics .

I would have just chucked something at the kid and knocked him over and then just tackled him when he was down.

Its not hard, and I had to do something similar once when somone pulled a knife on me.

Both taser-shots were to protect the safety of the children, as I see it (shard of glass, traffic hazard.)

Also, as I see it, the mother should take a taser to the ass for letting her kids get into this predicament to begin with, and then be arrested for neglect.

The officer should be commended....

We don't know all the details, but if the second kid was running into traffic, the cop could have kept her from being hit...esp. if she was drunk.
