I am praying for him, and I hope it's just his cold causing the problem.

I would guess that VP Cheney does have CHF. However, it can be very well managed. My husband is 69 and was diagnosed with CHF several years ago. He is in the garage building his third wooden boat in as many years.
Stress is an ugly culprit for this condition, IMHO. I am sure our dear VP is in good hands.
My prayers are with him for a safe trip back to the VP Compound in DC this evening.

The 25th Ammendment, Section 2 states that whenever there is a vacancy in the office of Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take the office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both houses of congress.
Yes, I am familiar with this provision of the constitution. I wondered if his failure to take the oath of office actually creates a 'vacancy' in the office of VP as this amendment anticipates, or if there is some other mechanism as it relates to the electoral college to deal with a vacancy that occurs prior to taking the oath.

Do a right click with your mouse, that will bring up a window that should give you the url. I think:)
I'm pretty computer illitrate.
Just wanted to make sure I made it clear that if/when you get the url post it with NO other html codes in any part of your post. When you preview it the address should show red. If it does that you got it right.
Good luck.

Here's one for the slime at DU. Lets say Cheney is ill, God Forbid, and needs to step down. Then W gets to nominate a new VPOTUS. Someone like say Gulianni, or maybe Newt, or even his brother Jeb. Then in 08 they get to run for President, something Cheney wouldn't do, with the same kind of edge Bush I had, and Albore had.
Maybe Rove had this planned all along.

If the DU'ers would think about it (a challenge to be sure) they'd stop and think of who would be appointed in lieu of Cheney....and unlike Cheney who won't run in '08 will have the inside track.
I still hope our VP is OK.

Everyone noticed at the RNC that he didn't seem to be enthusiastic, like there was something wrong. He must have been sick already.

Nothing definitive has been reported yet. The info I heard was just commentary from doctor and cardiologist consulted by Fox news as to "possible" problems.
You do know that VP Cheney is in excellent hands and has the prayers of all of us here. That should be comforting.
To: highpockets
I have been talking about the scenario for some time regarding Condi. I envisioned Cheney leaving after two years in this term and Bush naming Condi. Our prayers for one of the great VPs in this nation's history.
