Deputy Chief Resigns From CIA Agency Is Said to Be in Turmoil Under New Director Goss.

The deputy director of the CIA resigned yesterday after a series of confrontations over the past week between senior operations officials and CIA Director Porter J. Goss's new chief of staff that have left the agency in turmoil, according to several current and former CIA officials.

John E. McLaughlin, a 32-year CIA veteran who was acting director for two months this summer until Goss took over, resigned after warning Goss that his top aide, former Capitol Hill staff member Patrick Murray, was treating senior officials disrespectfully and risked widespread resignations, the officials said.

The clintonoids in the CIA tried desperately to destroy Bush before the election. They have been leaking to the MSM for years, and in the last few months the pace picked up.

We can be thankful for Rathergate, for it helped deflect the spread of this poison.

Nothing can be done to fix the CIA until the deadwood is cleaned out. Sources said that Porter Goss would do this, and I'm delighted to see that it may be true. It's a huge contrast to Bush's unfortunate appointment of Sessions at the FBI. Sessions cleaned out nobody, reformed nothing, and even gave out medals to some of clinton's chief operatives.

Turmoil???? Use to be called "housecleaning". Anyone that has been there 32 years should have been gone at 25. They become professional burrowcrats not intelligence gatherers.

After the stunts they had been pulling over the past year, and trying to undermine President Bush's re-election, GW probably told Goss to kick ass and take names. Good news. State Department next!

The CIA is a haven for liberal President Bush hating defeatists. How it got this way? I don't know--but I assume the same that the Universities turned overwhelmingly liberal--like hired like.

What, like Priest and Pincus would ever dare run an article admitting that our government is being well led, well run, and in the best shape of their histories?!

And remember, Pincus is buds with that charming duo, Joey Wilson and Val Plame.

Well, if you call cleaning house of politicized bureaucrats, chaos, then I guess the title might be accurate to the Democrats, at least. The Republicans are more likely to call it a good start.

"Shockingly enough, his biography is posted on the CIA website. Army infantry officer in Vietnam, then 32 years in the CIA. He concentrated on Eurasia before becoming Deputy Director. He created a senior analyst position and founded a school that teaches analysis to new DI employees."

Sure! yada, yada, yada…. But is he qualified? [snicker]

You never heard them complain when they missed 9/11.

But they made sure to leak the existance of and mischaracterized the contents of that August 2001 PDB.

Go, Goss!

I have heard on several shows from several people that the CIA and STATE Depts. were very anti-Bush and were doing a lot of stuff behind the scenes to thwart Bush's foreign policy choices. Bill Gertz, spent a long time on Rush's show one day telling how all of the so-called "leaks" were purposly used to discredit Bush and hopefully keep him from re-election.

I saw a thread that alludes to Powell perhaps staying because of Bushs renewed intent in Israel/Palestinian conflict. I think he should go and we should get a "porter goss" to clean house in State.

Does anyone have any idea who Bush might pick to be new head of the all encompassing Intelligence Department?

Maybe you're thinking of Pincus' cozy relationship with Joseph C.Wilson, IV and the daring Valerie Plame?

Pincus was one of the first reporters (perhaps THE first reporter) to write about Wilson's less than honest (though one wouldn't have learned that from Walter's breathless articles) description of his Niger experience, quoting Wilson, though citing him only anonymously at first.

Goss needs to make sure his personal security detail is very reliable.
