This is a total lie... I was just in London and had no problem at all. There are so many Americans there and Britain is as much involved in what is controversial as we are...
The media lies about this story constantly.

I thought it might be less than the truth. Many of the English papers have been having a terrible time of it,since we re-elected President Bush.

Actually it's not a lie. I was stationed in England for 3 years, lived off-base, and traveled all over England. The first thing I heard was "Yankee go home". I had the door slammed on me, was pushed around, people (young) calling us names and saying how ignorant Americans were,. What they don't say in the article is that this has been going on for years...I was stationed there in 1980 - 1984. Has nothing to do with the wars in Iraq/Afghanistan. Same thing was happening in Germany. There just Euroweenies who have their nose so far up in the air that they are catching bird crap.

DEAD ON.
If you are in a country that has issues with Americans, you know it. And generally only drunk Europeans go after Americans for the war. But the better reaction is, instead of cowering and pretending to be Canadian, saying "I won't insult my country in front of people who will never love her like I do."

I beg your pardon but my sister lives in Edinburgh and travels to London weekly and has actually been spat upon by a woman. She gets crap all the time. It's not a lie.

Perhaps not if she was hanging out in a mosque...

Whatever the media portrays...is far from the truth. From mainstream Germany...and excluding the elite university crowd...over 60 percent are pro-American. I see the same thing thoughout Europe. The media in each country does an excellent job selling their liberal left picture...but the facts simply aren't there. Even the regional elections in Europe over the past six months have told the same story. They may not be exactly pro-Bush...but there isn't a huge shift of anti-Americanism going on.
