In March of 1969, Bob Kalsu was called in by his ROTC obligation for active duty in the Vietnam War. Kalsu died in a mortal fire a year later on July 21st, 1970. He was the only pro football player killed in Vietnam.

The Bills honored Kalsu in November [2001]as they inducted him into the Wall of Fame.

The team and its owner, Ralph Wilson, were so moved by Kalsu's death they inducted Kalsu into the Wall of Fame (opened in 1980) THIRTY ONE years after his death.

That was a long time! He was honored here when they dedicated the brand new Memorial Statue here on the campus outside of Owen Field.

Kalsu played the Oil Bowl after his senior year in high school against Mickey Maroney, another high school superior athlete from Wichita Falls, Texas. Maroney played on the National Championship Arkansas Razorback team of '64. Agent Maroney was killed in the OKC Bombing.

What a strange coincidence. Thanks for sharing. That sure flies in the face of some of the postings on here about no federal agents being killed in the OKC Bombing. I knew there were agents killed because one of the Secret Service agents was assigned to Bush 41 that died in the bombing.
