I initially wondered that myself, but as far as I know, we have no women in actual combat units. Support units in theaters of combat, yes, but not actual fighting units. Remember that many of these troops are very young -- 18, 19 years old. Some young, boyish faces can appear somewhat feminine, especially when all we see are the features minus clues like hair, physical build, and so on.
Such young kids now becoming such brave men. I pray that we honor them a lot better than John "Jenjis Khaaan" Kerry did after Nam.
And those pictures of our men carrying off a fallen comrade makes me want to cry, and I don't cry.
