Could you please tell me what they found? I mean from a legal standpoint? Whether he's guilty or not, they convicted on assumptions. Doesn't that scare anyone on this thread? It scares the hell out of me. And I'm a totally law abiding citizen. He's a creep as far as cheating on his wife and lying to her, but that doesn't make him a murderer.
The system worked as it is laid out. Both sides presented their case. The jury heard weeks of testimony from the prosecution and the defense. In the end, the evidence and testimony convinced twelve people Scott Peterson was a murderer. I'm not certain why that scares you. Can you elaborate on that?
Many cases, with circumstantial evidence have been and are prosecuted, with guilty findings being returned. This shouldn't scare you are at all.
She's dead and so is the baby she was carrying and he killed them. That's what makes him a murderer.
I completely agree. The media had him guilty from day one - before even searching for evidence or bodies. (And we know how reliable the old media is!) But yes, it is scary how someone can be convicted on such slim circumstancial evidence. And after the judge conveniently removed 2 jurors who were likely leaning not-guilty. He is a reprehensible human being - but that shouldn't count for more than the lack of facts in this case. OJ was not guilty with tons of real evidence, Scott is guilty with very little......Scary is the word for it!
Did you follow the case? If so you'd know there is a LOT of circumstantial evidence... From telling two different stories about where he was that day... from phone calls on his cell phone that didn't tie to where he claimed he was ... to cement anchors missing .... fishing gear brand new and never opened ... saying he was fishing for Sturgeon (you don't try to catch sturgeon in that small of boat) ... to the house reeking of bleach and not allowing police to enter the house after he finally got around to calling them -- told them he needed a warrant first... calling his girl friend from Laci's vigil and laughing and saying he was in Paris... telling the girlfriend he didn't want kids of his own ... selling her car right away and trying to sell the house .. packing away the baby furniture... looking up the place where Laci was found on the internet and specifically checking tides in the area... witnesses saw the boat that day behind his truck with something wrapped in a large tarp... he claimed Laci was walking the dog -- her doctor said she was too swollen to take walks and he had her basically on rest -- her dog always barked very loudly when anyone was around the property and was very protective -- unlikely he would have stood by in a docile manner while someone grabbed her -- they had tracking devices in his car and he would go and watch from a hillside everything they went out looking for her body (he didn't know they knew he did so)... when he was arrested he had multiple cell phones and a lot of money on him, had grown a goatee and blonded his hair --- there is much more... it's not CSI -- most cases are circumstantial.
