Senator Maria Cantwell-weak candidate, guilty of breaking campaign finance laws, defended by Hillary Clinton and Patty Murray.
From "The Miami Review" # Miami graduate, Maria Cantwell, violating election laws: "The group's chairman, Kenneth Boehm, said it was ironic that Cantwell ran as an advocate of campaign finance reform "while keeping millions of dollars in loan information secret from Washington voters until after the election. Put simply, she won by less that one-tenth of 1 percent of the vote while breaking federal election law."
Any RINO's up there that can beat her?
I remember her. She was a millionaire who paid for her own election and then lost everything in the dot bomb. Had to go begging to Hitlery to bail her out...
"Any RINO's up there that can beat her?"
This is the dumb bunny that former Rep. Nethercutt should have gone after. Slade Gorton, who lost to Cant"budget"well, is the only RINO I can think of that "possibly" could challenge her. He has a history of winning, losing, winning, losing that senate seat. Plus, he's from Seattle and has the moola to take her own.
Yep. She & Mark Dayton (MN) look like the two easiest pick-offs. I feel bad for the Salvation Army, & will make a point of going to Circuit City to give them $$, but Target's (owned by Dayton-Hudson - he's one of THOSE Daytons) banning the S.A. is just a GIFT to the Republican Party.
RINOs are about all we can get elected here in WA. Names floated are Nethercutt again (he won't win) and Rossi if he manages to get robbed of the Governor's mansion. Cantwell is not extremely well liked in her own party. Leftists within the D party are clamoring for her to be challenged in the primary. They tend not to do that very often in this state, but that is how Patty got in so it may happen.
Jennifer Dunn won't run...she had her shot at Murray this time around and passed it up. Maybe we could convince former Congressmen Rick White or John Miller to run against her. Maybe Sec of State Sam Reed will run against her or newly elected Attorney General McKenna...but I doubt it. I would like to see someone raise up from the business community (not Mike McGavick from Safeco)...
Dunn doesn't have the guts to run unfortunately...
McKenna could give her a battle, but '06 is too soon... He just got elected Attorney General...
We are sadly short on statewide GOPers up here... Fortunately, it looks like we have a conservative governor and a great AG starting in January... But '06 is too soon for both of them to run for the Senate...
Jennifer Dunn is the only one capable of beating her and I don't think she has any interest in moving to DC again...
I think George Nethercutt, now that he has gotten his name ID up in western Washington, should be able to beat Cantwell. But, he'd need some support from the NRSC.
I agree with your assessment that Jennifer Dunn could beat Cantwell. Dino Rossi if he loses the governor's race (which is looking less and less likely) would be a strong candidate as well.
I think that Nethercutt would be wasting his time to run against Cantwell. His performance against Osama Patty was unimpressive.
Nethercutt is over as a candidate for Senate, his shine has worn off.
Wish Dunn would reconsider.
Doc Hastings might be an interesting candidate...
He is a bit old but I could see him doing it if the party needed him to... He will have the gravitas on his side having been in the House for 12 years by then...
Oh did Dunn retire? Did her seat stay Republican? How about Nethercutt's seat?
John Stanton?
Yah Dunn stepped down...
We kept the seat by 5% or so... Dave Reichert - the King County Sheriff who caught the Green River Killer beat Dave Ross the liberal KIRO talkshow host... It was a tough race and a sweet win.
We kept Nethercutt's seat as well - easily... Cathy McMorris is going to be a star, but '06 is too soon for her as well...
That's our problem - we have some new blood in our party thanks to this year, but '06 is too soon to take advantage of it probably...
Any state that would reelect the Osma Mama is pretty hopeless in my mind.
"I think that Nethercutt would be wasting his time to run against Cantwell. His performance against Osama Patty was unimpressive."
Well, we have elected some nutballs, but this state is not liberal as most people think... On the issues it is pretty conservative... It's just that the issue of abortion causes women to vote dem in droves and our local media is sooo liberal...
This state is not a total lost cause. It's just hard to knock off an incumbent dem up here because the media is so bad. But when it is an open seat (like this year's gov race) we can win up here. Unfortunately, that might mean we have to wait for Murray to voluntarily end her jihad.
Here's a link to a old CBS NEWS article on the 7/31/01 Senate confirmation hearing of Robert Mueller for FBI Director. Note the anti-law enforcement priorities of democrats Cantwell, Durban and Schumer.
This was less than 6 weeks before 9/11. Those same Senate democrats who showed zero concern for terrorism and held up Mueller actual confirmation till 9/4/01 (a week before 9/11) were the ones later yelling the loudest about "not connecting the dots". Note their priorities:
Cantwell - Carnivore (internet surveillance system) and privacy rights
Durbin - racial profiling (Durbin is member of Select Committee on Intelligence & Comm Judiciary)
Schumer - enforcing abortion clinic protection laws (internet surveillance system) and privacy rights
There's the evidence of who weakened the FBI for enemies of America. There's the culprits the 9/11 Commission protected. Those "dots" connect to Cantwell, Durban, Schumer and other liberal Democrats in Congress who have dedicated their public life to crippling America before her enemies.
