Slobodan Milosevic, who is on trial at the U.N. war crimes tribunal, has sent a letter of condolences to the Palestinians over the death of Yasser Arafat, the former president's aides said Friday.
The pro-Milosevic group called Sloboda (Freedom), which is aiding the their leader's defense before the tribunal in The Hague, Netherlands, gave no other details about the letter. The group only said it was addressed to the Palestinian people and leadership.
Milosevic was charged for genocide and crimes against humanity for his role in the Balkan wars of the 1990s. He was arrested and handed over to the Hague tribunal in 2001, a year after he was removed from power by a pro-Western coalition.
Perfect, just perfect. Sympathy from one numb taco to another.
Makes sense. After all, he is calling Clinton to the stand in his defense. I have a portion of the transcript of Clinton's testimony (in advance) for those that missed it here yesterday:
Slobo: Good morning Mr. President.
Clinton: It depends what the definition of good is.
Slobo: Excuse me?
Clinton: I did not have sex with that woman.
Slobo: What woman?
Clinton: I did not have sex with any of those women.
Slobo: Jeez. I just want to ask you a few preliminary questions. Have you ever lied under oath before?
Clinton: It depends on what you mean by "lie".
Slobo: Have you ever said something false under oath?
Clinton: It depends what you mean by false.
Slobo: Your honor, please tell the witness to answer the question.
Judge: Mr. Clinton, please answer with question. Have you ever lied under oath before?
Clinton: No.
