Yes. I have heard this absurd line which is the sound of deep denial among angry semi-psychotic liberals. But even Carville and Clinton are raising centrist alarms. It may be the Dems will split into factions - centrists vs. hard-core liberals. And that there will be much infighting among them straight through the 2008 primaries.
This is something I just don't get. As much as I admire the Bushes, I wouldn't have my home lined with their photos. Well maybe one or two if I was in the photo with them. :)
I am nearly through with Ann Coulter's latest book. In it, she mentions that she is amazed that a major political party continually discusses outloud ways to fake out the citizens. Pelosi's case is another example. They always talk about looking Presidential without realizing that the majority of us can tell the difference between looking from being Presidential.
Wow, what a powerful point. Thanks for that!
Hmmm...
Someone should ask Kerry..
"How does one ask an unborn baby to be the last to die for a lie?"
Except until Roe vs. Wade is overturned, and the issue of abortion returned to the legislatures, then we'll never know.
When I read of a old style Democrat still loyal to their party, I am witnessing a person stuck in the past and comforted by the easy associations of distant memories. "Democrats fought for the little guy" and "Republicans were a party of the rich." Ha! Ain't so.
Demoncrats should really look at how the Clintons have fared versus their party in general. Same for other so-called Dem leaders: Jesse Jackson, Teddy Kennedy, etc. It's not a party about the little guy. It's for the ultra rich, the Hollywood and Eastern elite, it's the cult of personality, of perceived style over solid value based substance. Just check the map. What you see is Red blooded America versus Blue blooded elite.
Like I said, this is the best thing that's ever happened to American politics. Won't the world be a better place when this American political revolution spreads throughout the rest of the world!
"I believe if the scientists at NASA discovered a single cell organism floating at the bottom of a primordial pool under the Martian polar ice cap, they would proclaim "Life found on Mars!". How much more infinate is the miracle of humanity?"
That is an excellent comment! You are correct. I will remember that for future arguments, and pass it on to my pro-life kid, she may have use of it before I do.
I, personally, talked to many, many people that I know voted Gore in 2000, that voted Bush this year because PBA goes over the "line". They were willing to look the other way knowing that the President couldn't outlaw abortion anyway, so they threw up their hands, and voted Dem. But the PBA vote this year was just too much. I know of at least 5 votes that Feingold lost on this issue alone.
How so? He's belittling Feinstein's position.

Also, we must all work diligently in the coming months to convince progressives that the Democratic Party has let them down. They must abandon the party. Their only recourse is to join and work for the Green Party moving forward. I may even register as a Green Party member to swell their voter registration rolls. Divide and conquer.
Begin with putting all known progressives in your sphere of influence on the Green Party mail list from their website. Great fun. Start inundating them with information now.
However, the demo party, beginning in '68 and more fully in '72 abandoned its more conservative factions and ran to the left. This move became even more pronounced in the 70's with losers like Jimmy Carter speaking the language of religion while floating a bloviated liberal agenda.
Southerners became totally disillusioned by the Dems and resorted to the GOP as the only party that reflected their values.
Economic policies did not fuel the South's move to the GOP. Moral issues (God, guns and gays) and national defense precipitated the move. Only over time did tax, fiscal and economics take over.
This election purged out what remained of the old Dem party in the South and solidified GOP dominance in the big sections of the midwest. In the next 4 to 8 years, you should see the tilt of states like WI and MN to the GOP, this along with population trends could allow the GOP to hold electoral dominance for a long time.
Right you are, and Pelosi ended her bogus "We democrats are so religious rant" with an attack on (so-called) right wing evangelicals. Talk about putting lipstick on a pig.
Personally, I would rather starve and be homeless sleeping in the open air than to ever vote for a baby-killer or anti-Catholic secular humanist liberal.
Same here!
The junior senator from NY is dressing herself and is being dressed in religious garb. She will be the Dim "messiah" speaking the language of values and morality. Beware of wolves in sheeps clothing.
"... democrats if they had any scruples would read.."
kind thought, but if they had any scruples, they wouldn't be Dems...not today.
Yes, indeed. Look for endless "pretty in pink' photos and interviews of the bogus Good Little Methoodist Girl Hillary.
(Off camera she curses to her lesbian socialist associates "I can't believe I have to do this cr*p.")
"If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat." (St. Paul)
Exactly.
Very astute. There will be a major third party. As both mainstream parties continue their headlong progress to the left, a conservative third party will emerge. It is just a question of whether it will be one of the fledgling right-wing parties in existence now, or whether it will be something new.
