PARIS, Nov 10 (AFP) - A member of France's ruling party on Wednesday demanded the withdrawal of an advertisement for a new gay television channel which uses a famous photograph of former French and German leaders Francois Mitterrand and Helmut Kohl holding hands at a war cemetery.
The poster for Pink TV bears the slogan, "There's more to life than sex."
"The memories of thousands of victims who disappeared in the fire of combat in World War One ...deserve universal respect. I am indignant at this outrageous abuse," Jean-Marc Nesme said in a letter to the veteran affairs minister.
The historic image of Franco-German reconciliation was taken in 1984 at a memorial in Verdun.

If they're not careful, Elizabeth Edwards will take them to task for being ashamed of homosexuals.

ROFLMAO!
But she's busy right now. I hope she gets better, but she's still a b*tch in my book. But, I still hope she gets better.
I'd probably condemn this vociferously...if France and Germany weren't involved! ;-)
I'm waiting for some FR wizard to locate a photo of the hand-holders.
That would explain a lot between Chiraq and Schroeder too!
IIRC, Mitterand not only had a wife and children, he also had at least one mistress, yes a female one.
Such is rather a tradition for the wealthy in France.
Uh-ohhh, I smell a new jibjab cartoon.
The mistress attended his funeral with her/his daughter.
A lot of gay men are married with children.
We Will Fight For Pink TV
With a *female* mistress too?
