"star of harmony"
"reconciled among themselves as two independent and sovereign states".
"illustrious deceased"

Joaquin Navarro-Valls:
"The Holy See joins the pain of the Palestinian people for the passing of President Yasser Arafat. He was a leader of great charisma who loved his people and tried to guide them towards national independence,"

"There is no doubt that he was a towering figure for his people but his great mistake was not to sign on at Camp David,"

The "illustrious deceased" gets me, as does the "leader of great charisma."

""The Holy See joins the pain of the Palestinian people for the passing of President Yasser Arafat. He was a leader of great charisma who loved his people and tried to guide them towards national independence," said the statement by chief spokesman Joaquin Navarro-Valls.

He had great charisma? The Pope should just SHUT UP. Does the "Holy See" think Arafat had "great charisma" before or after he blew up men, women and children in Israel in order to "guide them towards national independence"????? Being old and dead should not automatically translate into "leader w/great charisma", etc., ad nauseum.

He was certainly charismatic, so that doesn't seem to me to be more than obvious sentiments. All leaders have "great charisma." Seems to be words that don't convey much.

"Illustrious," it was mentioned, could just mean "prominent" or noticeable. That he was.

Remember the fate of Palestinian Christians, especially Palestinian Roman Catholics and Palestinian Eastern Catholics. While such statements may make us want to vomit, there are other concerns at work as well.

"He was a leader of great charisma who loved his people"

This is lying filth, and it is beneath contempt for this lie to pass out of the lips of a godly leader.

Ararat was an Egyptian!! NOT A PALISTINIAN! HE WAS INSTALLED/SETUP BY THE KGB! HE USED THE PALISTININIAN PEOPLE/CAUSE TO ENRICH HIMSELF AND ATTACK ISRAEL! LOOK AT "THE FRUITS OF HIS LOVE" TOWARD "THE PEOPLE". DOES ANYONE WITH A WORKING BRAIN THINK THAT'S "LOVE"?!
