ABC News: Some Say U.S. No Longer Feels Like Home (gag alert)

Posted on 11/11/2004 6:28:46 AM PST by AuburnJenn

Nov. 10, 2004 -- Leora Dowling and her husband thought returning from deep in "red" America to her native New England would make them feel more comfortable, more like the people around them shared their values. Since the election, she's been contemplating another move. To Italy.

"After the election, my husband and I asked ourselves, 'How could our country be heading backward? How could so many people miss or choose to ignore the obvious failures of the Bush administration?'" the former Florida resident said.

Dowling, a college professor who lives with her husband in Vermont, is not alone in feeling that the wounds cannot be healed, or at least that Bush is not the man to do it.

For Dowling, as for others who ABCNews.com spoke with, though the immediate anger may be focused on the president — whether because of the war in Iraq, his stance on same-sex weddings, what they say is his blurring of the line between church and state, or his championing of the Patriot Act — there is a broader concern. They say they feel the United States is changing in ways they do not like, and they feel powerless to stop it.

This is probably because it's becoming filled with Third World illegal immigrants.

Oklahoma might be a place for you. Some snow. It can get hot in the summers in the Western half especially. North central might be the place you are looking for. It has also voed for the pubbie since the 60's I believe.

I live in Missouri now and it fits your description pretty well. Not too hot in the summer. Snow, but only one or two bad storms a year. That's applicable here in SW, MO. We're a swing state, though. All but six times since statehood, the winner of MO electoral votes has taken the White House.

Please don't categorize all teachers as liberal DUmmies. I am a proud US Marine vet and am an elementary school teacher. Most of the teachers in my school voted for Bush. I am NOT a member of the communist NEA.

If that statement had been at the beginning of the article, I would have stopped there.

I wish they would leave, renounce their citizenship ( make it irrevocable ) and never come back to pollute our country again. ( SAVE GAS AND THE EVIROMENT, MAKE THE LIBS WALK TO WORK ).

I think a clear pattern has started to emerge. Wealthy libs always *threaten* to leave the country. They *never, ever, ever* actually do it. This is the liberal equivalent of holding your breath - in the end they always breath - so I think we should just ignore these "threats" in the future - as *nothing* ever comes of them.

Accept my apologies. My wife teaches too, so don't tell her what I said.

Their lust for power will destroy them.
The only glee that they ever wanted is to force feed our masses and youth with their perverted life styles, but now, they see that, that power is beginning to slip away and they will DO WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO GAIN IT BACK.
Their lust and hate will only destroy them in the end.
GOOD always triumphs over evil, ALWAYS.
The 2 major forces that seduce and have a spell over the DEMS/LIBS are to major satanic and demonic forces, that, most of them are not even aware that they are being controlled by the devil, ABORTION ( with the Feminist movement ) & The GAY AGENDA , are Satanic / Demonic forces.
The DEMS/LIBS/MSM are being ( SET UP / SEDUCED ) for the coming ( BIG LIE of the devil ).
The Bible says, " for this cause ( that they believed the lie ) that the LORD ( GOD of ISRAEL ) sent them strong delusions .
At a certain point, they will come to the point, were they are beyond any hope or miracle.

ABC must have really brainstormed this one ... imagine, finding a liberal in VT.

ABC had a form on their website a few days ago asking for people to write in their "story" if they were seriously considering leaving the country because of the election results. I'm sure they got all kinds wackos to choose from.

I'll trade. I am stuck here in central NY. If I could move my family (including parents and in-laws) out, then I would leave NY in a drop of a hat.
