Jimmy Carter has requested permission to attend Arafat's funeral, per Andrea Mitchell. Carter is said to be eager to go. No word yet from the White House.
Low level State Dept. delegation will attend.

He does usually do what he wants, but this time, he needs
extra beefed up protection from the terrorists. That's all
we need, for some terrorist to kidnap him and be holding
him if we don't do this or that.
Maybe Israel will let Peanut Head move in to Ararat's old office.

The guy was a terrorist killing innocents and of course, Carter wants his face time to honor him. It would be akin to him going to OBL's funeral service and no doubt that day will come also. Carter is obviously becoming more demented every day and someone in his family should tend to him.

Carter probably wants to lead a delegation, hoping to negotiate a peace plan that would be acceptable to both sides. I think Carter is still tying to make up for his failed presidency and failure over the Iran hostage crisis. jmo
