Naismith was born a Canadian, but the game was created in the USA, in Springfield, Mass. Basketball is the only major sport created in America that is not a development from European roots.

I know, I know.
Just having some fun.
The Basketball Hall Of Fame was actually one of the more interesting athletics-related museums that I've been to.
Definitely more fun than the trip I made to Cooperstown.

if he wasn't such a good player, I'd say "throw the bum out!"
A bum with talent is still a bum.

I quit the NBA with Sprewell.
Ain't that the truth.
And I just heard on the the news today I think that that a-hole wants a new contract. Did he actually say, "How am I supposed to feed my family on $14mil a year?"

From the article:
He certainly surprised Carlisle, who said Tuesday that the situation, "compromised the integrity of the team.
It's a private team matter, and I'm going to leave it at that."
"I don't know what that means," Artest said.
"They probably expected a little more; expected me to play every game.
Everybody's different. It's early in the season, so I feel like I could take some time off early and be ready for the long stretch."

...asked for time off because of a busy schedule that included promoting a soon-to-be released rap album...I feel for the guy. I did the very same thing...

Neither one is a major sport, but it's interesting to point out that both volleyball and raquetball - like basketball - were invented at the YMCA.

Thats what happens when you pay retards millions of dollars to play a kids game... They don't want to do the job your paying them for and want to take off to promote rap albums and to smoke weed!

"I was ready to take some time off, at least like a month off, but two games is enough."Huh??? The papers must be ripping this guy. He's likely to be the reason it's nick-named the National Bong Association too. Why he doesn't lose any pay is unfathomable.

If only the poor schmuck was a hockey player. He could be taking the entire year off. Most NHL players are playing in European leagues for peanuts, compared to what they were making. They're doing it because they love to play the game.
