Nita loses to either Pataki or Rudy.

I was very dismayed that the GOP didn't bring out the big guns on chuckie. He's been more damaging as a Senator than Hildabeast by a considerable margin.

Yeah, maybe Alan can be a rent-a-candidate for races that we have no chance of winning. I wonder when Patrick Leahy or John Kerry come up for re-election?

Probably Pataki. Rudy is holding out for the "BIG" job.

A Republican to win in NY has to be liberal. Better a liberal GOPer than a liberal RATer.

There's some huge skeletons in her and her busbands closets... don't think either will be running anytime now or in the future... When asked a few years back Paxon said that such a run would get two no votes in his house.

He'd do even worse in New York -- he's tooooo conservative for the North East.

The best candidate to beat Hillary in the 2006 NY Senate race is...

Colin L. Powell
Secretary of State

Secretary Powell was born in New York City on April 5, 1937 and was raised in the South Bronx. His parents, Luther and Maud Powell, immigrated to the United States from Jamaica. Secretary Powell was educated in the New York City public schools, graduating from the City College of New York (CCNY), where he earned a bachelor’s degree in geology. He also participated in ROTC at CCNY and received a commission as an Army second lieutenant upon graduation in June 1958.

Secretary Powell was a professional soldier for 35 years, during which time he held myriad command and staff positions and rose to the rank of 4-star General. He was Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs from December 1987 to January 1989. His last assignment, from October 1, 1989 to September 30, 1993, was as the 12th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the highest military position in the Department of Defense. During this time, he oversaw 28 crises, including Operation Desert Storm in the victorious 1991 Persian Gulf war.

Rudy will not run, no one else can beat her, end of story.

We need to focus on the red states, people. Blue-state incumbents don't lose.

Ah, you know the story too! Not many do. Her issues are chump change when compared to his. That said, Sweet Billy's now pursuing his fave extracurriculars at Akin, Gump in DC as a big-time lobbyist. If only Governor McGreevey can land on his feet so nicely . . .

Well, with the type of candidates NYS fields, we might as well.

Seriously, its more exasperation with the NY GOP than real suggestion.

Guliani would give Jesus a run for his money in any election in New York. As for Pataki...don't blame me, I voted for Tom Golisano (conservative Independent) in the last Gubernatorial Election.

I think a person has to search for the truth these days... we certainly don't get it from our media --any media. Thank God for the Internet (as long as it's used for research and not propaganda --aka DU's)

Guiliani wants to run for president. He can't run the risk of losing to the Hildabeast and then running against her for president.

Rudy isn't going to run for president, and probably isn't going to run for senator.

He's been making it pretty clear (how comes no one listens to him when he actually speaks?) that he'll probably run for governor.

In almost all referances to future office (which he has said he'll run again), his referances have been to state office. I do remember an interview during the convention when he noted that governors get elected president, while senators do not.

Pataki has been wishy washy, but its clear he's not going to run for president, and his top guy (either chief of staff or top advisor) basically blasted Bush for ruining Pataki's chances of ever becoming president. He will run again, the question is governor or senator, and my bets on senator.

If you r definition of unhinged and bipolar is that he calls it the way hse sees it, says so in no uncertain terms, and isn't afriad of what people think of him.

Of course, that describes a lot of FReepers too.
