Lynne Cheney, God love her, did go way to easy on Lauer. I'd have preferred to see her stand up, tell Matt that it was time for him to get an education so he would know the difference between a terrorist and a freedom fighter, and walk off the set.
The same might be said for Tim McVeigh, the Manson gang, or the SS Einsatzgruppen. It might also apply to vigilantes and terrorists who decide to take on the might of the LLL media through "direct action" of some kind. Just saying, Matt.
