Gotta second that resistance to the 'Wal Mart voter' notion. I'm well-off, highly educated, not religious, registered independent, and pretty moderate on social issues.

I voted Republican because Kerry is probably the worst of the liberal empty suits - a liar, traitor, opportunist of the worst sort - a populist, socialist, scheming money grubber, and arrogant political blowhard.

That the Dems would nominate a candidate that bad speaks volumes about their ignorance/perfidy.

Ditto. I think it's interesting all the stereotypes the media is trying to use to marginalize the importance of the red states votes. It's just another indicator that they need more "foreign correspondents" to tell them what's really going on in this country. It would be much more effective than continually parroting each others columns in the echo chambers of New York and L.A.

The pundits would absoutely hate me. I am female, single (never married), childless, under 30, atheist, hold a post-graduate degree, work in academia, am well-off.... and am conservative all the way, and was proud to vote for Bush.

Walmart, pshaw.
