I know I'll get creamed over this. First off, this article is not telling the truth about work permits. Second off....I'm for it!!!

Powell cautioned Tuesday that it was unclear how the new Congress, which takes office in January, would deal with the issue. At a joint news conference with Mexican Foreign Minister Luis Ernesto Derbez, he promised that the Bush administration would meet with congressional leaders to assess "the pace at which we can proceed with a temporary-worker program and how fast and how far we can move in what period of time."
"We don't want to over-promise," Powell said.

You're right. I don't recall EITHER candidate discussing the illegal alien issue. They purposely avoided it, so it seems.
The writer is just trying to have the conservatives go after each other's throats. It's working.

You bet. I stuck with my pricipals, I didn't vote for this guy. I knew the big fraud was coming. You voted for whom? Badnarik? Kerry?

Not if they live in apartments. Yes they do! The rent they pay is paid to the landlord who then pays the property taxes. If renters did not have to pay property taxes (indirectly sure) their rent would be a lot less.
And are not California schools financed by property taxes?

The hypocrisy of the Bots is unbelievable.I suppose you're referring to me, but don't have the guts to say that to me in a post.
Exactly what am I being hypocritical about?

I suggest we try not to do anything prohibited by the United States Constitution, which that is.

Bussing and dish washing in cheap eateries"
So it's your opinion that Bush's guest worker program will only be used to fill those jobs and no other, perhaps more lucrative, jobs that Americans DO want to do?
Incidentally, in my youth I've performed every one of those jobs on your list while I was going to school and getting a start in the job market. So have a lot of my friends. I still have friends who are doing them today.

The writer is just trying to have the conservatives go after each other's throats. It's working. One of the said "divide and conquer" would be their strategy for the next four years. Looks like they are getting off to a quick start!

California schools are financed in numerous ways, property tax being one. There are also bond measures and general fund expenditures, depending on how programs in school are labeled as budget items.
BTW, schools are not the only resource illegals use! I notice you ignore hospitals and jail. Let's face it, the people are sick of paying for the gardeners and nannies of illegal symps.
