An excuse for everything!
Whoah... Bill throwing gasoline on the Democrats' blame-the-gays fest? Curiouser and curiouser...
Bill married gay and it never hurt him politically.
However, Ohio may have had the most extreme constitutional amendment because if forbade civil unions also. He couldn't support Ohio's without at least tacitly supporting them all.
Well, at least he places the blame where it belongs, with the Massachusetts Supreme Court.
lmao! Bill figures he's immune from bigotry cirticism on this one since he married one..
Correct, Kerry had already endorsed civil unions continiously throughout his campaign if I am not mistaken.
so who listens to this guy anymore? he didn't win any states for the dems. in fact didn't the dems lose every state he campaigned in except hawaii?
when he was prez, he lost both the house AND the senate to the republicans, and managed to divide his party and the nation like seldom before.
yeah. his is an opinion i'll certainly take to heart /sarcasm
He is telling her that to win she must Sistah Souljah the gays.
From the election analysis that I've been seeing, it appears that Bush got about the same level of support in those 11 states as he did last time.
Plus, more folks voted to prevent "gay marriage" then voted for Bush in many areas.
This indicates Shrillary will probably be running to the right of Skerry on this issue during the '08 primaries..
Makes sense. I know I always felt a liitle uncomfortable, seeing Kerry all huggy-kissy with that one real fugly-type guy he always fagging around with:
kerry's home state's supreme court, with its ruling on gay marriage, ended up stabbing kerry in the back. love it! (most people write off california as the state of nuts and fruits)
Well, when the democrats began debating this in the summer of 03' with Howard Dean and the base driving everyone left, they basically took the wrong position early. Anyone else who disagreed with the party/activist line, such as Lieberman, were drummed out early. Kerry has a lifetime record of not supporting marraige, so his stances would never fly.
Massachusettes turns out the bigger losers, imo.
The delicious irony, of Kerry losing because of the ONLY thing he took a strong and consistent stand on!
Democrats registered huge numbers of new voters. More of the same won't make a difference.
Democrats staged a massive get-out-the-vote effort. More of the same won't make a difference.
It's the Ideology. Gays? Guns? Taxes? Iraq? Unions? Affirmative Action? I don't know what they will decide, but the Democrats MUST toss aside some of their special interests. Most Americans oppose the Democrats because of what the Democrats value. The Democrats must change some of their values, and reject some of the things they have supported for the past few decades. They will do so before 2008.
Bill is signaling that throwing homosexuals overboard is the smart move. Maybe that will be the choice. But I think it will be insufficient. Who else will they walk away from?
