But for now lemme ask if any of you 3 caught "Frontline" last night?

Missed it, but it sounds like it would have been worth watching. If for no other reason to validate what many of us instinctively know.

Dealt with "marketing" [read: advertising] in America today; and, the brainstems behind the machine driving it (mostly located in the heart of NYC, BTW).

That would be Madison Avenue I presume. They are very good at what they do. Their stock in trade is appealing to the emotions and other weaknesses in the human condition. I think we've discussed this before haven't we?

There's ANOTHER THREAD going that's discussing the attack on the straight white WASP from these same folks. Nothing really new here but it could raise some awareness of the interlocking MO's.

"That would be Madison Avenue I presume."

You presume correctly, again, Sir. ;^)

"They are very good at what they do. Their stock in trade is appealing to the emotions and other weaknesses in the human condition."

Yes & that's *precisely* what most of the people Frontline interviewed emphasized time & again.

"I think we've discussed this before haven't we?"

Many times, and in many ways.

"There's ANOTHER THREAD going..."

Which I'll look in on after I finish this, bank on it. ;^)

"...that's discussing the attack on the straight white WASP from these same folks. Nothing really new here but it could raise some awareness of the interlocking MO's."

See, and this is a part of the Frontline program you would've especially liked; because, they boldly showed the Madison Avenue brainstems conducting their essential focus group research.
And insodoing -- & I believe quite inadvertently -- showed the *faces* of those they selected.
People who'll ultimately set a direction for the rest of the entire nation.

The insanity here is the outrageous lengths to which the marketing brainstem(s) will go to determine what will & what won't work is a function of themselves when they choose the people they do.
If that makes any sense?

I mean they don't just snatch "average" Joe's off the street, they select their focus group people according to stereotypes that resonate with *themselves* to fit their agenda.
It's nuts.

Now had you seen those faces everything concerning everything we've witnessed happening in politics, culture, pop culture etc would become very clear.

...crystal clear. ;^)
