Simple answer - slavery was abolished because it was bad. Under liberalism, the People work, the Man in the Big House takes the profits of their labor, the People get enough to subsist on and have no say in how things are run.
The only people who would actually consider liberalism superior to conservatism fall into two categories:
1. They like to pick cotton for the privilege of existing.
2. They intend to reside in the Big House.

Thanks - I read your mail and pretty much agreed with it. I agree it's not wise to tamper with the Constitution, but barring a turn-around of all the activist "judges", something has to be done to preserve the concepts that laid the foundation for the GREATEST DARN COUNTRY ON THE FACE OF GOD'S EARTH.
