GAAKKK!!!! Vegemite!!! Talk about an acquired taste! I've had better looking things flung at my from the other side of a monkey cage and never tasted anything worse, exponentially!!!

Didn't want to insult our Aussie friends. But now that you bring it up -- and bringing it up is what will happen to any non-Aussie who tries to eat it -- I think it would be easier to spread roofing tar on toast and eat it than vegemite. I have pretty wide-ranging taste, but a line begins to be drawn when we get to vegemite/menudo/haggis territory. If I recall, vegemite is some kind of yeast-based product, and yeast does not belong to any of the basic food groups with which most of us are familiar. Vegemite does make an excellent defoliant, however.
