DALLAS -- Six men, dressed in black fatigues with the word "Police" stenciled on the backs of the shirts, stormed a house in Southeast Dallas Tuesday morning at about 10:30, according to police. The men reportedly were armed with automatic weapons, broke windows and terrorized the family living in the 9400 block of Bermuda Road.
Witnesses said the men spoke English and Spanish. They shouted, "Policia," or police, and manhandled the family's patriarch. Two of the men used weapons to assault Maria Lopez (pictured, left), who tried to protect her 3-week-old infant.
"Well, the female, she was pretty much assaulted with a gun," Officer Y.M. Abrom said. "With one of the AK-47s. She was pistol-whipped to the face."
The men reportedly were looking for marijuana at the house, which also serves as a welding business. They failed to find any drugs at the location, and moved on to a vacant house on the same street.
There, they allegedly accosted five construction workers. The contractors were forced to the ground, and the robbers took the workers' wallets. The suspects fled in two vehicles.
Lopez received stitches at an area hospital.
Investigators called the suspects "take-over bandit copycats," referring to a recent case involving robbers armed with automatic weapons who stormed businesses.
I do it all the time to my pet cats.
It certainly is.
I'm sure they appreciate it tremendously. Cats seem to be very easy to please.
A second before they shot your head off for sassing them.
I think you are _Jim's alter ego.
Note my reason for keeping their weapons - you never know when you might need one to justify deadly force. And no, I'm not prone to use such force, or I'd have merely wasted all three of them that morning - without a single thought or worry about being prosecuted. I would've been within my rights to do so. I didn't feel like my personal safety would've been enhanced by giving them to the law, and chances are almost 100% that they landed themselves in jail for some other offense quite soon after the incident. Criminals tend to be stupid, which is why they are caught to begin with. Ask any LEO - he's never met a smart criminal, because they don't ever catch the smart ones. They always catch the stupid ones, which gives the law the ability to exercise patience.
Criminals are like Arabs. They respect overwhelming force, and have no respect for someone who hides behind the police. They merely move along to find an unarmed target, or one they can intimidate. They are cowards - just like rapists, thieves, and power mad crooked JBTs. I don't believe all LEOs are crooked, only a small percentage - but those few who are make "we the people" far less comfortable in the presence of the law than we should be. That's a shame. After all, we're all on the same side.
I highly recommend to everyone that if your local LE agency offers a community academy, that you attend it. I spent 13 weeks at our county sheriff's community academy getting to know the department from the inside, and it has made a big difference in the way in which I see and deal with the deputies. They aren't nameless and anonymous anymore. I understand now that there are laws which they enforce far more dilligently than others - the ones they tend to disagree with are not enforced so rigidly. They're humans.
Yes, that makes a great deal of sense.
Maybe if some people burst into your house yelling 'police', your response would be to ask them all for a hug.
"Look at me! I'm CWOJackson! Respond to my posts! I matter!"
The community academy's are wonderful, even in King County. Did you get to do a ride-along?
That's it - you must be somebody's bad attempt at a bad AI program. Looks like it's time for a debugging - you're stuck at the 'quips that make no sense' subroutine.
LOL! Hmmmmmm....and 100 posts later you're still responding. Thanks for making me feel so important.
Oh, and validating my first post by jumping in so quick to blame the police.
Make that 109 posts later.
This is plain dishonest, civilian or cop. I don't go that route. Besides they start checking where the gun came from and... guess what... the guy was in jail when it was stolen! Oooooops. I'd at least send it back anonymously to the cops after wiping fingerprints, as whoever did own it, if stolen, surely wants it back.
And, "flash", it's pretty low-class of you to use your profile to attack another FReeper.
Get a life.. This isn't what FR is all about.
SFS
I've actually had some reasonable conversation on this thread, but I understand your angst.
Clinton: "I feel your pain" (lower lip trembles)
LOL! Yes, he mastered the technique.
"Willie" would have a run for his money to match your slickness
Get over yourself, Steel Fire and Stone is right.
You gotta be kidding me. Just minutes after condescending to s+f+s, you say way to go.
Well we had a nice parley. Gnite and try not to dream of swat raids, you scare your wife every time with your cheers.
Good night and I can assure you I don't dream of swat raids; I don't fixate on the police.
