Former President Bill Clinton, noting an "astonishing turnout among evangelical Christians" in this year's election, warned yesterday that Democrats "cannot be nationally competitive when we don't feel comfortable talking about our convictions." "I do not believe either party has a monopoly on morality or truth," Clinton said at upstate Hamilton College one week after President Bush defeated Democratic challenger John Kerry.
"I think the current divisions are partly the fault of the people in my party for not engaging the Christian evangelical community in a serious discussion of what it would take to promote a real culture of life," Clinton said.

Yes, the Clinton way. Have Jessie and his girl friend come over for a visit to talk about you and your girl friend.

The man who says "it all depends on the meaning of "is" has the temerity to lecture Americans on truth and morality! Bubba can't even bring himself to admit he had sex with Monica!

Better hide those insulting "Jesusland" maps, and stick a gag in Maureen Dowd. Oh, and do the same for Jane Smiley.
Yeah, right, the Dems are going to court evangelicals. And we're going to hear about a 'real culture of life' from the defender of partial-birth abortions.
I'm going to go puke.

"cannot be nationally competitive when we don't feel comfortable talking about our convictions." That's because you don't have any convictions, idiot!

Neither party has a monopoly on morals but one major (and rapidly becoming minor) contender isn't even on the field. How can we have a 2-party system when only one party is nationally competitive?

For the most part we don't care about his/his party's morality. We care that they are trying to legislate that morality so as to be required by all of us!
I don't care if they want to teach their children alternative lifestyles, sexuality [i.e. sex education with focus on pleasure and disdain for abstinence], that God has no place in their public lives, that the right to abortion is inviolate[abortion as birth-control]. I care that you want to FORCE ME BY LEGISLATIVE ACTIONS to teach that to MY children!

Suppose this means sHillary will be attending church on a weekly basis -- and of course cameras will be present each week.
To: CWOJackson
It's simple. Once the democrats turn their backs on the gay agenda and the unrestricted abortion agenda, Christians will listen to what they have to say.
Until they do that, the only audience they'll get is with Episcopalians and their ilk, not Christians.

DEMS MUST COURT CHRISTIANS... with the values of abortion, homosexuality, pornography, illicit drugs, prostitution, profanity, lies and removing the Ten Commandments from public.
OK. Sure. That'll do just fine.

Adultery can be forgiven if the adulterer tries to change his ways.
Abortion is murder (and generally occurs after extramarital sex). Why should the baby suffer for the sins of the parents? If extramarital sex is not a scandal, why is it more "shocking" to give birth to an illegitimate child than to murder it?
Homosexuality is an abomination. What is the big deal about trying to get churches to perform same sex ceremonies? Are the sodomites afraid that God will condemn them as living in sin because they are not married to each other? It is why I term the movement "celebrate perversity"; it makes sin a badge of honor (much like the "I had an abortion" t-shirts that Planned Parenthood was promoting).
Hard to stand behind these traits and claim that conservatives don't have the upper hand on morality.
Democrats have to lie to sell their politics. Republicans are just called "mean" because they won't let people do some things they want to.
It is quite clear that same sex marriage includes things like same sex adoption. That child has no "choice" growing up in an alternative lifestyle.

Yeah, Bill's advice is to start the courting by sending them all copies of "Leaves of Grass".

Former President Bill Clinton...warned yesterday that Democrats "cannot be nationally competitive when we don't feel comfortable talking about our convictions." We know what sort of convictions Democrats have, Bill. Let's see...there's fraud, murder, perjury...
Give it up, Democrats: you'll never get the Christian vote. We can smell molten evil a mile away.
