Yes. In the end, these people really were not given given any choice except the manner of their death. It was either poison or a bullet.
Some here regularly post the pictures of these dead men, women, and children, along with "Kool Aid" quips. While the term "drinking the Kool Aid" has certainly become part of our vernacular, I really think the photos are in very bad taste.
