I expect that W will give a gracious speech that will have us all screaming but W is about respect for the office regardless of the tenor of the individual who physically occupied the oval office.

Tenor...for a moment there, I thought you said "TERROR"! (BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA) Guess I got my "r" and "n" mixed up.

Did you know that President Jefferson Davis has a Presidential Library in Biloxi, MS?

No, I didn't. I think it would be fascinating to visit. Many of the older presidential libraries, museums and collections of papers are not part of the National Archives system. However, I would find the older collections more interesting in some ways because I like history.

I think it [The Jefferson Davis Presidential Library in Biloxi] would be fascinating to visit.

When i saw it while driving through Biloxi, I thought that it was curious since he wasn't really a President, but then I thought agan and realized, well, yes he was. While not a President of the United States proper, he was a President of a large part of the United States for a few years (sort of). I didn't have time to actually go in, but next time I'm there I might.

Here and here is some more information.

IIRC Clinton's Library has a life size recreation of the Oval Office.

The last thing I see on their website is Counter Clinton Library Receives Tax Exempt Status" from April.

They have been quiet lately.

The Clinton Library is supposed to show his Administration's supposed committment to "building the bridge to the 21st century."

Isn't it ironic (in the popular use of the word) that the library stops short of actually being a bridge? What a wonderful and lasting commentary about his failed presidency!

"instead of a lie, the media will run the crowds of lying trashie clinton lovers hollering and jeering Pres Bush over and over ad nauseum..."

I think Bush will show up & say a few nice words, although he's probably still having trouble sleeping nights, since the WH portrait unveiling. But I really don't think the Clinton lovers will have the guts to jeer Bush to his face, besides, this would portray them for who they really are...poor losers.

President George W. Bush is just about he most decent, honorable man I can think of. I know the President likes to give the needle though. I hope he reminds Uncle Bill that he carried his home state on his way to a majority of the popular vote. Jim

Still the only Presidential Library with an Adults Only wing. Imagine a door with a "Must be 21 years or older to enter" sign on it.

I was at the dedication of 41's library....I fully expected W to attend - I think it's to accept the Library on behalf of the American people. Also expect to see 41, Peanut, Pres Ford (if able); and at 41's, Nancy Reagan spoke (it was a great speech), and I believe one of the Johnson girls (I think Lady Bird had just had her stroke), Caroline Kennedy, Nixon's daughters (or at least one)all attended... well, you get my drift. It's courtesy and custom. BTW, the dedication ceremony was one of those kind of days you never forget. I was extremely lucky to get an invitation and got to see Gov W speak and he introduced Jeb as governor (which told the crowd that he was running for Gov of FL again). What a wonderful day it was!
