now let me be sarcastic...for someone who isn't sure if 'sarcastic' is a word...he/she can certainly spell 'sarcastically' without any problem. Odd?

600 years ago Christians were as radical in their beliefs as numerous Muslims today.

You're not particularly well-informed in history, are you?

In 1404, women were allowed to own property. They were allowed to read and study and publish (such as publishing was in those pre-printing days). They were allowed to conduct business outside the home without male supervision. Their testimony in a court of law was as valid as a man's. They could not be thrown out of their home by their husband on a whim. According the chivalric code, raising one's hand to a woman was considered sinful and cowardly.

None of this applies in the strict Islam advocated by the raghead filth polluting the streets of Europe and America.

The guy who set the Reichstag fire, van Der Lubbe, was a Dutchman, too. He was of course an agent of the Nazis.

Also sone one tried to set the Pauluschurch aflame in Boxmeer.

The attacks on three Protestant churches in The Netherlands got a single line
in a short article buried in the Los Angeles Times.
(Well, at least that's all I've seen).

I get the impression that about 5-10% of the current troubles with Islamic radical
in The Netherlands, Sudan, Nigeria and The Ivory Coast surfaces in the US media.

I think the US/International media reports a minimal amount...they are committed
to NOT printing news that confirms the wisdom of the voters in the USA,
Australia and the UK in affirming leaders that won't bend to the terror-thugs.

Concerning Taquiya...I was first made aware of this Koranic principle of subversion and trickery by Sudanese Christians who warned me not to believe what Muslims said about "living in harmony" etc. I have since ha their warnings to me confirmed.

They should know .. what? Over 3 millions of Sudanese Christians dead!

The London Times story over the weekend said that the killer attempted to (and nearly did) decapitate Theo van Gogh before stabbing him. I still have not seen the American press reporting this aspect of the murder.

Fascinating to hear they were in line with the rest of their brotherhood around the world.

Whenever Muslims "condemn" atrocities committed by other Muslims it's because "it makes Islam look bad" and "we are so afraid of backlash"

Bingo.

166 - "Muslims: Not all bad."

I spent over 5 years living and working in the mid-east.
What I found, was that there were many 'good' people, who were 'muslims'. I found some 'good muslims' who were also 'good people'. But mostly I found that these people were 'good people' in spite of their religion, Islam.

In my opinion. Islam does not lead to making people good. It leads to making good people 'bad'.

I feel sad for my Muslim friends, caught in this web of hate.

I agree. Islam claims them, they do have much of a choice if they are born into a Muslim family in an Islamic country, and are left with several hard options if they are not happy with this.

They could quietly ignore their "religion" and eat pork, ignore prayers etc, while calling themselves Muslim in name only because of social and family pressure.

The braver ones could try and flee/convert. I was aware of a Church network in an Islamic country that had to save Muslims that converted for the local religious police and try to get some of them out of the country in any way they could.

Or they could take a stand and try to change Islam more than Islam tried to change them... The Ibn Warraqs, the Amir Taheris...

Sadly, in the majority of cases, Islam brainwashes its victims. Nothing is up for discussion and it's beyond questioning or reasoning with. They become mindless slaves to Islam.

He that cannot reason is a fool.
He that will not is a bigot.
He that dare not is a slave.

A wordy paper worthy of the Arabists who forever apologize for Muslim atrocities and refusal to join modern society. Islam by its very nature is a refuge for absolutists who can very easily dominate the religion if given a little support, as the Wahabis have shown. Islamic culture had a brief flowering from 600-800 AD when they adopted virtually all the accumulated knowledge from the remains of the Roman Empire, but after that knowledge become dogma and shows an amazing tendency to remain so to this day. The Islamic philosophy where religion, society, and government are deeply and inextricably intertwined as to be inseperable is singularly vulnerable to totalitarian/authoritarian takeover. Look at all the dictatorships in Muslim countries. Look at how easily the old Soviet empire co-opted and suppressed them in the 'stans.

The Muslim's dominated the world die to their aggressiveness and the newness of their empire, the Baghdad Caliphate and the weakness of the corrupt and dying Byzantine Roman Empire. The western Roman Empire had fallen into ruin, and the Seleucid Persians had worn themselves out fighting the Byzantines. Their dominance of this time cemented an unalterable belief in their superiority which was further augmented by a massive inferiority complex when the Europeans began breaking out after the Renaissance, stopping the Turks in the middle 1600's and then conquering most of the Muslim countries in the 18th and 19th centuries.

This European dominance during their colonial period caused their insular nature to intensify and then the dominance of the socialist dictators or corrupt royalists after decolonization has allowed the fanatics to gain a foothold and keep expanding after the massive failure of the socialists (Nasser, Baathists, etc) to create a prosperous society. The Saudi royal family made a bargain with the Wahabists to cement their grip on power that has allowed Wahabi tenets to spread world through the Saudi financed massadras. Poor educations by these massadras on the poor muslims in Egypt, Pakistan, and the other Muslim countries have incubated an almost unshakable belief that all that all their problems are not due to themselves, but to the nonbelievers. Their rage and hatred of Israel is due more to jealousy that the Jews have come in and taken a bedraggled and ruined country that was mired in poverty and could barely feed itself and turned it into the most dynamic nation in the middle east. This jealousy was feed by the Arab dictators who were frightened by Israel's example. All means to destroy or conquer the infidels are permissible.

It will take decades, if not centuries to eradicate this cancer on the civil world. Live and let live is not in their world view. There are many westernized Muslims who share our values of civil discourse, but they are marginalized in Islamic culture and are not listened to any more. The only way to stop them is do fight and totally dominate them. Only under pressure of overwhelming power and the threat of destruction will they abandon this destructive path they have chosen. The first step is the realization that the Sharia was derived from a primitive Arab culture that does not really apply to modern society.

The ruling clans of Muslims in the former USSR joined the party for protective coloration but it was still the same old clans. They were all relatives.

They don't need a mosque to worship. They can go to someone's home.

They were not Wahabbi radicals. Not all Muslims are Wahabbis.

I thought the discussion about educational issues in SA was terrific. Someone is thinking at least.

Islam is changing and that is why the terrorists are so mad.

Now I am not too up on Soviet era Muslims because I used to travel to the former USSR and meet Christians. So I was up on the Christians.

But the Muslims were not nut cases. Now, due to Putin's stupidity, that is changing.

"Firefighters struggled to extinguish the flames at the burning Bedir school ..."

Being a former volunteer firefighter, I'd struggle, too....knowing it was Islimeick.

Let it burn until the day comes that they learn mercy and tolerance.
