Specter an active participant in Borking Bork.

Now it is Specters turn to be Borked.

Rough justice.

It's better to stand on principal than expedience.

Vengence???? How???? I don't get it.

Conservatives won in the election. Must they now behave as though they are moderates? If Specter is not taken down, the others on this thread are right by saying the conservative base will take it as a punch in the gut.

Was anyone here alive when Bork was treated as if he was trash? Specter had alot to do with that...do you think Specter has redeemed himself? What has he done to convince you that he'll tow the line for Bush? He's playing everyone for suckers, I'd say.

"Slouching Toward Gomorrah" is Bork's book - if you haven't read it do yourself a favor and do so. The man is a fine American and he is certain proof that not all intellectuals are liberals.

Frankly, this man is much more intelligent than the collected wisdom of the Damnocrats.

I listened to this interview yesterday, and one other interesting thing that Bork mentioned was that there has never been a Supreme Court justice who, after being confirmed and then serving on the Court, has moved to the right during his (or her) term. If there is "movement" in judicial philosphy at all, it is always to the left.

Bork says Specter should be derailed, that's good enough for me.

Joel Whatshisname, I know who you mean. He was sitting right behind JF...ing Kerry in that photo taken at the congressional hearings in the '70's.

Einhorn, that's the guy...murdered his girlfriend and stuffed her in a trunk for years. Sat behind Kerry in that Vietnam congressional hearing photo op. A real snake.

"Asked if he would encourage the growing movement in Congress to head off Specter's ascension to his committee's chairmanship, Bork said, "Oh, yeah.""

Hugh Hewitt will probably say Bork just doesn't get it.

Rush suggested doing just that a couple of years ago. As a recess appointment, just to really drive the RATS crazy. ;^)

What about Whizzer White? He was a Democrat, appointed by John Kennedy - and became one of the court's more conservative members.

It's better to stand on principal than expedience.

My motto. I've been saying this for years, like a broken record. That's why Santorum has gone from hero to nearly anathema, in my eyes.

I may be wrong, but I think White started out conservative, despite being a Democrat. That was a long time ago when there was still such a thing as a conservative Democrat.

I heard the Specter interview, as well as the Bork phone call, and after all these years, I still think it was entirely about Roe v. Wade. All the rest was a smokescreen.

I agree with Rove. I believe Specter is a man of his word. He has said before he will stonewall Scalia-quality justices, and I fully believe him.

I couldn't agree with you more.

Beautifully written post, BTW.

Have a vote come down to Orrin, though, and I fear he may get blackmailed.

As a Senator, Hatch certainly does cut a fine figure. Unfortunately, he has no spine.

But we have more choices for DOJ, and I sure would hate to see Orrin get any consideration there.

Agree emphatically.

Oh, yeah--Ira Einhorn! We should never allow Specter to forget how he aided and abetted a cold-blooded murderer.
