STAND-BY FOR LAPD FOR TERRORIST INCIDENT
On Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at 0854 hours eleven companies of Firefighters, eleven Rescue Ambulances, three Battalion Commanders, one Division Commander, three EMS Battalion Captains, two Arson/Terrorist Teams and one Rehab Utility under the command of Deputy Chief Mario D. Rueda ( Fire Chief William Bamattre on scene, but command remained with Chief Rueda) at the request of the LAPD, responded to a hostage situation stand-by at 6th Street and Carondelet Street in the Westlake area. 2401 W. 6th Street is the location of the Mexican Consulate where the LAPD incident was taking place. Shortly after Fire Department arrival, a nineteen-year old male was transported by Rescue Ambulance to LACOUSC in critical condition from a gunshot wound. A thirty-six year old female, 8 months pregnant and a sixty-year old female, both suffering from emotional distress were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in stable condition for further evaluation. LAPD and FBI are continuing the investigation.
