A lot of the nonsense from the above excerpt is repeated by John Loftus. The more I find out about him, the more of a kook he appears to be. Why does a smart guy like John Batchelor have Loftus on his show so often?
I agree with you about the Libertarians. I went to a meeting several years ago; all they could talk about was how intrusive it was of the government that they could not smoke as much marijuana as they wanted. They're "libertines" not "libertarians." I agree with their free market stance on economics only because it's not original with the LP; they got it from great classical liberals like Ludwig von Mises.
The Republican party was created after a war in the Whig party over slavery. The Whigs supported it, the first second pub presidential candidate, Lincoln, ended it. The "American Party" were the know nothings.
