As I have said, I do not see why the pharmacist kept the script. He could have refused to fill it, and sent her elsewhere.

In his mind, the script was a license to commit an immoral act, an act which was in violation of his Hippocratic Oath and his personal beliefs.
From that point of view, how could he possibly give it back?
