C-SPAN has a good one:
http://network.ap.org/dynamic/files/specials/election_night_2004/us_map_govsenhouse/index.html?SITE=CSPANELN&SECTION=POLITICS

They have lots of other good stuff; start with Site Index page, under Current Events click 2004 Election...etc

thank you- I still don't see anyone offering one for sale- guess I'll have to take one to my local printer, and have them run off a quality one. appreciate the response.

I have been looking for a map showing both the states and the counties with an electronic file large enough to print clear posters and to make tee shirts...

Still looking.

found quite a few t-shirts for sale, but I would like a high quality map to put conspicuously on my living room wall for awhile, if you know what I mean. (not that I will ever get rid of it)

The US Geological Survey (usgs.gov) (federal agency) posts an excellent set of US Presendential Election maps-- but the 2004 map is not yet posted.

http://nationalatlas.gov

Go right here to see how to get the paper map from USGS. This is the best cartographic effort I have seen if you are interested in the historical trends of the POTUS elections.

BTW - I am a cartographer.
