Two Worlds Apart Meet Face to Face: A chilling example of anti-Christian “tolerance”

If you want to know how students who believe in God and morality are treated on a secular college campus, the answer is: without an ounce of tolerance.

On November 1, Feast of All Saints, TFP Student Action volunteers visited the University of Delaware. Together with students of St. Louis de Montfort Academy, they blanketed the campus with a six-page flyer titled Are We Still One Nation Under God?, a scholarly document based on divine and natural law explaining why homosexual vice is morally wrong and detrimental to the family.

As TFP volunteers began their peaceful and legal campaign, a police officer approached and verified that everything was in order. TFP members’ polite and respectful conduct clearly pleased him. “I remember you from last time and you were very cooperative. Just make sure you stay on the public sidewalk,” he said.

Pro-homosexual activists unnerved by the truth

Pro-homosexual activists were frantic, however, displaying great intolerance toward anyone who dared disagree with their radical agenda. The TFP’s mere presence seemed to unnerve them. They were especially infuriated when students showed interest or support for TFP’s traditional marriage message. Quickly organizing into a boisterous, frenzied and agitated counter-demonstration reminiscent of the French Revolution’s Terror, a group of about twenty pro-homosexual activists gathered to taunt, insult, spit, curse, yell, blaspheme and harass TFP volunteers.

A liberal professor made it a point to join the homosexual activists and warmly encourage them to continue demonstrating with pats on the shoulders.

Students passing by could hardly believe their eyes and ears. Their puzzled faces tried to understand how proponents of “tolerance” could behave so intolerantly. The ugly nature of sin was reflected in the behavior of these pro-homosexual activists. Waving a rainbow flag and large pink triangle inches away from TFP members’ faces, pro-homosexual activists held signs and chanted, “God loves homosexuals,” “Equal rights for all!” and “Stop hate now!”

Tolerance – Liberal Style

Waving a rainbow flag and large pink triangle inches away from TFP members’ faces, pro-homosexual activists held signs and chanted, “God loves homosexuals,” “Equal rights for all!” and “Stop hate now!” They also attempted to block physically any students approaching TFP volunteers. One of them scrambled from student to student holding a trash can, coaxing them to throw the TFP flyer away.

TFP volunteers responded with effective slogans such as, “Liberty without morality, is a recipe for disaster,” “If you love God, keep His Commandments,” “Support traditional marriage,” “Freedom of speech, practice what you preach,” and “A moral wrong can never be a civil right.”

It got uglier.

Small pieces of ash began raining down in the vicinity of the campaign. The pro-homosexual activists had collected a number of TFP brochures into a pile, then set them on fire. However, their actions backfired when the public realized what was taking place. The false, romanticized version of homosexuality promoted by the media suddenly fell apart. Noticing this, the less radical liberals decided to hide the smoldering flyers in a nearby trash can far away from sight.

TFP volunteers stood their ground

A conservative gentleman approached and personally greeted each TFP volunteer. He said: “Stand strong! You’re doing God’s work.” And after observing the burnt flyers, he remarked: “If a Christian group were to peacefully demonstrate on private property without a permit, where those pro-homosexuals are right now, the university would immediately shut them down.” The double standard is obvious.

“If morality continues to erode in America,” he continued, “you fellows might go to jail for doing what you’re doing. Look at Canada.”

Despite intense opposition, TFP members stood firm, calm, polite and courteous; not an easy task in such circumstances. Face-to-face on the same sidewalk were two opposite worldviews, two distinct human types. On the right were those who believe in God, His commandments, absolute truth, virtue, honor, purity, heaven, and hell. On the left were those who oppose God, dishonor His laws, favor promiscuity, revolt against order and promote anarchy.

These pro-homosexuals are neither tolerant nor "gay." Don't let them deceive you.

Yeah, I remember my years in college. Really difficult to be a conservative. And I agree: those liberals are only tolerant with themselves.

“If morality continues to erode in America,” he continued, “you fellows might go to jail for doing what you’re doing. Look at Canada.”

No question about it. This is the path of "tolerant, progressive" Canada and Western Europe. Americans have repeatedly rejected, and must continue to reject, adopting the antidemocratic PC-think of the Euros.

Maybe it was guilt, and they were attempting to subconsciously recreate Sodom and Gomorrah.
Stop the intolerant haters. Vote for family values.

Imagine having all those raging demons hissing at you for expressing your moral beliefs. I can just picture green puke spewing from their mouths.

I was in a discussion the other day about homosexual lifestyles. Someone observed that gay men are typically fastidious about their personal appearances, neatness, and cleanliness. Another friend observed that the trait was the antithetical compensation for their filthy act (of sodomy.)

It is gross. But true.

When I was in college in the late 70's, a really obnoxious radical on our wing of the dorm was always haranguanging on us about capitilisim, etc. He also ahd a really bad habit of slamming his room door hard when he came back from some all nighter at 4 AM. Since most of us were engineering students, we came up with an elegant solution. One guy made up a batch of nitrogen tri-iodide, a REALLY touchy explosive. One guy picked his lock, while others spread the NI3 paste on the door jam (it is touchy only when dry), and then carefully closed the door.

At 3:33 Am or so, he came back to the dorm and slammed his door, setting off the NI3 and blowing it off the hinges! The look on his face when we all came out in the hallway was priceless. Our dorm was also known for disassembling VW bigs and re-assembling them in the victim's room.

The campus cops knew this guy and were grinning. Of course today, we would have been considered terrorists and the whole dorm would ahve been turned inside out.

Thank you posting this, concernedAmerican. The University of Delaware is my alma mater. I graduated from there in 2002. I attended the Catholic chapel on campus. It was pretty "progressive."

The article mentions the TFP's last visit to UD, which was in March. In response, the student leaders who assist the chaplain at the Catholic chapel sent a letter to the editor of the student newspaper, which was printed. It stated:

On Monday, March 29 while walking by Trabant, like many other students, we stumbled upon a gathering of bagpipes and banners displayed by the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property. Curious as to the nature of their demonstration, several students of the Catholic Campus Ministry picked up fliers. The information contained in the literature was appalling. Even more disturbing were the numerous references to Catholicism and Catholic organizations. Shocked by these references to our faith, one of us asked the demonstrators their affiliation. They did not mention Catholicism; however, their literature suggests that they are a direct reflection of the Catholic Church.

We, as students, leaders and Catholics wish to make it known to the university community that our organization, the Catholic Campus Ministry at the University of Delaware, is in no way affiliated with the TFP. The word "catholic" by definition means universal and the Catholic Campus Ministry wishes to express our acceptance of all people.

On this issue, at the very least , the students are Catholics-in-name only.
