Forgive my ignorance, but what does Rick Santorum have to do with this? Senator Frist is majority leader.

Rick campaigned alongside his senior senator.

"Some" think Rick should have endorsed Toomey
in the primary.

Santorum is #3 in the senate leadership heirarchy and Santoru,'s endorsement of Specter was key in Specter beating Conservative Pat Toomey in the primaries.

As majority leader, Sen. Frist technically has the power to appoint all committee chairman in the Senate. However, the practical reality is he will seek a consensus among his colleagues. He could use the support of Santorum, who is Republican Conference Chairman.

A polite phone call to Sen. Santorum would help the cause.
