I`m still not so sure, I voted for Jim Clymer(constitution party) Hoeffel led the race most of the night. And I did like a previous post which referred to Mr. Toomey as Gov. Toomey. Now as soon as we can impeach or recall Ed Rendell...

No, the base is made up of intelligent people.

Are the writers at National Review "nuts" too?

If they want to get rid of Santorum, absolutely.

Here's what Santorum said in Crisis magazine in August:

"Senator Specter, who has voted for every Bush judicial nominee, has said repeatedly that he doesn’t apply a litmus test for judges. I know this for a fact because during the last three years, the senator and I have joined together to nominate 20 judges to the federal bench, including six Democrats. From the public information available about those nominees, all were conservative jurists and to my knowledge—with one exception—were also pro-life."

A pro-lifer put his reputation on the line for a notorious pro-choice radical. The morally right thing for Santorum to do would be to right this wrong by opposing Specter's Chairmanship.

I DON'T WANT TO GET RID OF SANTORUM! I just want to hold him accountable who are responsible for his election in the first place!

You are, quite frankly, crazy. It is people like you that give all conservatives a bad name. Let's go after one of the most conservative members of the Senate because there's another Senator that isn't a conservative there? How assinine can you get?

So the base of the party is made up of those who won't hold leadership acocuntable?

We are holding the leadership accountable, Mr. Frist's office has been overwhelmed with calls. He, must more so than Santorum, is responsible for discipling the errant, arrogant Specter.

Boycotting arguably the most conservative member of the US Senate who comes from the liberal northeast, has a firm base (ie, wins big), and is young enough to be a major player for decades, is really, really stupid. Not to mention counter to everything we have just work for (Bush/Cheney 04).

So you admit your post is just a lie in a vain effort to scare Senator Rick Santorum. Thanks for finally admitting it.

"So you're calling me stupid now because..."

Actually you're doing a fine enough job on yourself, no need for me to state the obvious.

Hoeffel led the race most of the night.

Again, that's largely for reasons that would NOT have affected Toomey. Part of the Republican base consciously withheld their vote from Specter.

I NEVER ONCE SAID GET RID OF HIM! I said that we should let him know that his own future is in jeapordy if he ignores his base. And the same thing goes for Frist's planned presidential run.

So as long as a politican provides conservative lip service, that's good enough?

Lie my ass! Santorum needs to know that if he takes his conservative base for granted, he may have to suffer the consequences. What is wrong with that???

Thanks for responding to my points. You're a bit dense. You say "yes sir" and march ahead, never questioning orders or leadership. Did you pick that up in the Army CWO? In the Air Force, they teach us to think for ourselves. If something's broken, fix it. In the Army, if something's broken, wait for somebody to tell you to fix it.

Bump.
Amazing the number of of folks here
who seemingly take delight in trashing
a win along with a good conservative
senator, Rick Santorum.

Let Bush handle Specter.

Specter is already feeling the heat.
