Former CNN anchorman Frank Sesno said Sunday that sour-grapes post-election rants by New York Times columnists Maureen Dowd and Paul Krugman show that they are "out of touch" with regular Americans who voted for George Bush in droves.
Asked about the bitter-sounding Dowd and Krugman tirades, Sesno told CNN's "Reliable Sources":
"Some of the folks who are doing this writing are just as much out of touch with the red states, and America outside the elite Eastern seaboard and pockets in the West, as the Democrats."
On Friday, Krugman had written that Bush is "a radical" who leads "a coalition that deeply dislikes America."
A day before, Dowd had complained: "The president got reelected by dividing the country along fault lines of fear, intolerance, ignorance and religious rule."
I'm surprised that Sesno said this.
They will. One thing I have noticed about Dims and the media over the years. Election defeat is NEVER their fault. They will come up with a rationalization and blame everyone BUT themselves.
I saw Dowd on the Sun morning shows. She said that W. was elected by the "ignorant."
Also, during that same interview: Sesno correctly identified purple as being a color, and correctly labeled fire as "Not Wet." :)
I don't know if all of them will stay out in the weeds. Certainly the ideologues will cut off their noses to spite their faces, but ultimately the news business, like any other business, is about selling a product. There are a lot of people in this world that will change their stripes depending on who the cool cat of the day is. Others will follow the power, and still others will follow the money. Some news exec is looking at the 52%-47% number and saying to himself, "self, why are we targeting the minority? The money's in the majority".
Isn't that like Rosie O calling Oprah fat?
"I saw Dowd on the Sun morning shows. She said that W. was elected by the "'ignorant.'"
So Dowd voted for W? I never would have guessed.
Maureen "I'm too ignorant for my clothes" Dowd.
Maureen Dowd voted for the Jack Daniels/Johnny Walker ticket this election.
Duhh Like this is news
Text of my Email to Krugman:
On the Behalf of those ignorant (as you think) Americans who rightly voted to reelect President Bush to The White Houe
Bite ME
Sincerely
An informed American Voter
My favorite saying: "The left is so far out in left field you cannot see them with the Hubble telescope." That is where they belong and probably will stay until they grow up.
Of course. From Dowd's and Krugman's perspective, 52%, if not more, of Americans are "out of touch" with them. They reveal their utter arrogance.

I am sure that there are openings at Tass for Krugman and Dowd.
Actually Dowd and Krugman sounded just about the same as usual. You couldn't get any further over the top than they already were.
Completely out of their minds is more accurate. Liberal zombies who are the living dead.
I read Krugman's most recent column on Drudge. I'm still in the mood to hear the libs whining. He actually said that some people were saying that the long lines at the polls, something like 5-7 hour waits, were interpreted by some people as trying to discourage voters and suppress votes. While not overtly endorsing that idea, I just thought it was ridiculous for him to bring it up.
Out of touch? He's a raving lunatic.
