We tried to do that and we lost. Remember?

The Republican Party (Bush, Santorum, etc.) supported Specter. They actively campaigned for the man.

No, a small group of underfunded conservatives tried, and narrowly lost. In retrospect, I wonder whether those who supported Specter wish they'd voted for principle instead?

I thought we were the Republican party. I voted for Toomey. When my candidate lost, I went with what the majority in my party decided. I didn't stamp my feet and threaten to hold my breath because I didn't get my way.

MY principles dictated that I not put a filthy POS socialist/marxist crat like Hoefle into power.
