As I have read down through these comments my heart is breaking at the absolute cruelty in all of your remarks over something this woman has no control over, and that is her appearance. It is frightening to me to think that you are all thinking these kinds of remarks are worthy of posting and worse -- that your posts are funny. They aren't funny. They are treacherous. It would be one thing to criticize Helen Thomas for things she has said or done -- things she had control over, things that were a matter of personal choice on her part. But to slay this woman for her appearance seems to me cruel beyond belief. She can't HELP how she was born.

Actually, they are hilarious. Helen Thomas is a public figure and has thrust herself into the political debate willingly. She's a dried-up, poisonous old battleaxe who should have been put on mandatory Thorazine suppositories 15 years ago.

Uh, didn't this thread (and every other Helen Thomas thread for that matter) start off with exactly that? She has the choice whether or not to write the journalistic equivalent of raw sewage, and she gets paid very well to do it. She is fair game for the response she receives as a result.
