Rhetoric won't change the fact that despite the democrats refusal to admit the reason Bill Clinton was elected in 92 was not the Parties connection with the people but the fact that Ross Perot won 20%+ of the vote.

A third party of Liberals would destroy any Democratic candidate 08. Hillary and Schumer have got to be smarter than this. The Liberals say that Bush is dumb, go figure.

Minimum wages, Socialized medicine, Affirmative action, Welfare and all the Liberal programs are nothing but Socialism and totally out of touch with mainstream America.

In New York, candidates can count votes on more than one party line. Working Families will endorse the leading Democratic contender, and he'll add the Working Party votes to his Dem total in the General Election. Third parties don't have to be spoilers in NY. Working Families is heavily labor backed, as the article stated. The were pushing for a minimum wage hike, which I understand. The also led a drive to knock out the Democrat District Attorney in Albany in this year's primary. Their Democrat won. What I don't understand is why a labor backed party cares about a DA. They ran on a drug sentencing law reform agenda, which is thought to be popular with minority voters (it's big with Catholics and Dems as well; and realistically, the drug laws in NY have to change). I suspect that they were just flexing their muscle, to show the Democrats that they they need to respect the Working Families Party and its agenda.

In New York, it doesn't matter. New York state has several parties -- Conservative, Liberal, etc. Often a candidate will be on several "lines". They never run their own presidential candidates.
