My dad is a minister here in Texas. He wrote this for the church bulletin tomorrow and I thought I would share it with you here first.

Well it's excellent, good job dad!

He should send around to a few newspapers as an op-ed (might need a wee bit of tweaking for that, just sort of a change to a more third person voice), this simple message might just penatrate some of the thick heads out on the dem side, who are really just not getting it.

He does so well to make the point that they were given tolerance, and that was not enough. The LEFT is the American taliban, nothing less than submission will satisfy them, and that they will not get. Let the gnashing of teeth continue apace!

Very good. However, I have a slightly different take on one issue:

During this past year morals resurfaced as an issue on the American political scene.

I think the morals issue started its revival on 9/11/01. The aftermath of 911 made a lot of people take stock in their lives and actually implemented same changes for the better and refocused their s[irit towards family and friends.

You are absolutely right.

I remember every detail about the morning of 911. I was at work and before the radio broke announced it I found it posted on FR (I check the headlines every so often throughout the day). I remember who I called - an ex-Navy friend of mine living in Florida. He explained that terrorists usually follow up a same scene terror act in an attempt to kill the rescuers. Then the second plane hit.

From then on, I know my outlook on life changed. I have put more energies into helping my kids' develop their young adult lives, rather than worrying whether the winds will be calm enough for me to get out and catch some stripers or blues.

I've donated more money to charities in the last three years than I have throughout my life. I've done more volunteer work in the last three years than I have in my lifetime. It is very rewarding to get that feeling that you've made a difference in someone's life. So I don't fish or golf as much - who cares.

Great post. Except it focuses on only the traditional and superficial.

I believe (and I imagine your Dad does, too) that humans are part of a larger war.

While victory is assured, a war is underway. If what I believe is correct, it is a war far beyond our understanding. We can play a positive role only when we accept the truth.

While we might be unable to grasp the details, we can grasp the truth. And therein lies our Salvation.

This is indeed a great post.

Your Dad calls for Mainstream Media to return to its roots, though, and my view is that this is not only so unlikely as to be described as impossible, but also wouldn't make any difference. Alternative New Media isn't going away and not only are people not going away from it, but more and more people are coming to it each day. It's just a matter of people finding out that it's there and that there are others "sharing the same brain" with them. They get a taste and they're finished with MSM.

I'll go back even further than that. The disgust began when our previous President taught a nation full of kids that oral sex is not really sex and that lying about sex is not only understandable, it's downright honorable--even in a court of law. And a bunch of our elected officials, who should have known better, AGREED.

Democrats are still paying for their condoning of Clinton's despicable and criminal behavior.

Great post. I actually heard a discussion from some Old Media folks on TV yesterday. They seemed bewildered about who would actually vote for GWB and decided that maybe they ought to get out and try to find out more about those people. It was amazing--as if Bush voters were some kind of space aliens or something that needed to be dissected to find out what makes them tick. It was a very telling discussion and further proof that the Old Media doesn't have a clue.
