I am a NY lawyer who was in Duval County. The GOP volunteer machine was shock and awe. I was amazed at how diverse the volunteers were. It was so heart warming. The K/E people were so depresed at how good we were and how organized.
From my direct experience, the voters who encountered the most intimidation and supression were African-Americans who were voting for Bush.
We made sure they got to cast their ballot.
