It Ain't Over.....Yet!

Many people, including a small number of uninformed veterans I suppose, mistakenly believe the efforts of the Swift Boat Vererans and POWs for Truth were politically motivated and intended to aid President Bush's re-election campaign. To believe that is to overlook the key word in the group's name...."TRUTH"....and requires disregarding the evidence presented by that group, plus additional information which surfaced as other inquiring minds were motivated to dig into Kerry's background during the campaign.

John Kerry would like everyone to believe SwiftVets was just a temporary political organization out to misrepresent his "heroic" military service in Vietnam and smear his "good name." He would like us to believe that SwiftVets was somehow connected to the Bush campaign. But it isn't, and never was.

SwiftVets' need to reveal the truth....and America's need to hear it....did not end with the election. Efforts must continue because it is really frightening just how close this country came to electing, as its president, a man who has spent his entire adult lifetime working AGAINST this country. We must cautiously and conscientiously guard against any future recurrence, the identity of any potential candidate notwithstanding. Don't forget how long Alger Hiss and Whitaker Chambers worked in high-level government jobs in the FDR-Truman administrations, spied for the Soviet Union, yet went unexposed until 1948-49.

Richard Nixon was certain the 1960 election had been rigged to elect JFK, but he conceded....for the good of the country....rather than ignite a Constitutional crisis that could have damaged the United States significantly at a critical time in history (Gore wasn't so morally restrained in 2000, unfortunately). Even after having won a later election, when proof of illegal electioneering and criminal break-ins surfaced, Nixon resigned as the quickest way to curtail extensive investigations that could have revealed even more damaging evidence. To that degree, at least, he was somewhat "honorable."

Gary Hart withdrew from the presidential primaries when information about his adulterous affair would have, if released, damaged him. His mere withdrawal destroyed him, as it turned out.

Despite several historical examples of how quickly the public airing of past indiscriminate acts can ruin a person's political life, John Kerry is without equal in his strong belief that the majority of Americans are ignorant and gullible. His arrogance is boundless.

The Clinton years gave birth to a new and effective strategy; maliciously attack the bearers of truth until they are discredited in the minds of the masses. The Clintonistas honed that tactic to perfection, and its effectiveness certainly was not lost on one John Kerry. The Clinton machine effectively attacked and decimated Paula Jones, Kathleen Willey, Monica Lewinsky, Linda Tripp, Gennifer Flowers, and others. The Kerry machine followed the blueprint and neutralized Kerry's two-year affair with intern Alexandra Polier, as though it had never occurred, early on in the 2004 primaries.

Kerry is a man who knows there is ample proof of his anti-American and anti-war activities. He knows that FBI records show he has collaborated with and aided enemies of the United States: the KGB, North Vietnamese Communists, and others.

He knows it can be proven that he fabricated nonexistent events in Vietnam and wrote glowing descriptions of his own imaginary heroism which resulted in undeserved medals being awarded to him. He knows that nothing he did in Vietnam could be considered heroic, by any stretch of imagination. In fact, several of his crewmen say he cowered and was indecisive under pressure, and fled to safety when enemy action threatened.

He knows FBI records exist which detail many of the anti-American activities in which he participated, including discussions of proposals to assassinate seven named U.S. Senators who supported the war in Vietnam at the time.

Kerry knows documents exist which prove he was separated from the Navy under conditions "other-than-honorable." He knows evidence exists proving that his bogus awards were revoked, and that Jimmy Carter's Vietnam Amnesty, when combined with special legislation ushered through Congress by Ted Kennedy to specifically accommodate Kerry's predicament, permitted him to petition and have his discharge later upgraded to "honorable" and have his awards, though originally bogus, re-issued as legitimate.

His arrogance and disrespect for the American people could not be more clearly demonstrated than it was when he launched his run for the presidency. In preparation, he filed court injunctions against the Navy....and several selected individuals....to prohibit them from discussing these matters or releasing any documents.

He employed a massive propaganda machine to publicly attack and smear anyone who might dare to come forward in efforts to expose him by telling the truth. To do this, he had to be able to count on the mainstream media to defend him and discredit any opposition. We can be certain that someone very powerful promised him such support....otherwise, he would have been forced to take the route of the Gary Harts and the Richard Nixons. He knew he could not fool everybody, but then he only had to fool some 60 million of them; what the others believed would not matter.

Next, his 20-year record in the Senate would be damaging, not only by its singularly outstanding un-remarkableness but also, by all the anti-American and anti-military votes he has consistently cast. His run could not be based upon a performance and voting record that surely would have destroyed him, so a diversion was necessary.

That diversion was his arrogant and shameless run on his contrived Vietnam record. He hired a few men to stand with him and act as "his band of brothers." They were indoctrinated, drilled, and well-rehearsed to tell the same stories of Kerry's self-imagined heroic exploits. We can bet these men, mostly veterans, were selected based upon the nature of their for-sale character, which Kerry had carefully assessed during those dozen weeks in Vietnam.

While he may have expected some opposition from John O'Neill and a few others, I don't think he anticipated the formation of the SwiftVets and having his entire chain-of-command and fellow swift boat skippers to stand against him. But his smear machine went to work and the mainstream media willingly assisted.

Most people realize that the more-than-200 members of SwiftVets includes Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Christians, non-Christians, of whom some are pro-Bush while others are anti-Bush. Among the things they have in common, however....things which unite them....are:

1. They love their country, and fought to preserve it....they can't stand by and watch it destroyed by the likes of John Kerry;

2. They, and all Vietnam veterans, have been saddled for 35 years with a bad rap they don't deserve, thanks to the Jane Fondas, the Tom Haydens, the John Kerrys who lied through their teeth, and the media which promoted their lies and anti-American propaganda;

*4. They want the truth about the Vietnam War to finally be told, and they want the history books corrected.

*This effort is ongoing, and great strides are being made by such operations as The Long Way Home Project (http://www.ourpatriots.com).

If the purpose of the SwiftVets had been, as Kerry supporters suggest, to aid in the re-election of President Bush, the group of veterans would have no reason not to disband now, would they? They'd proclaim "mission accomplished" and go home.

But they trod onward. More evidence has been uncovered to buttress the claim that Kerry's original separation from the Navy was not via honorable discharge.

Pressure must continue to be exerted on the Department of the Navy and the Congress to force the release of the other, thus far unreleased, 100-plus pages of documents in Kerry's official records, along with pertinent parts of FBI investigation findings and other related documents.

This is NOT a witch hunt searching for suspected records, it is a drive for the release of known records. For example, two witnesses have seen records showing Kerry was denied admission to Harvard Law School because the University felt he could never sit for the BAR exam with a less-than-honorable discharge from the Navy. SwiftVets and others are committed to placing such records into the public domain.

Readers of this article are encouraged to write the Navy and their members of Congress, and to hound the media and call talk shows, until this snake in the woodpile has been flushed out.

Some 52 million people voted for Kerry. Some of them did not know of the allegations that the character of Kerry's service was dishonorable and cowardly, some had heard but did not believe, and others fell prey to the contrived notion that SwiftVets were on Bush's payroll and were out to discredit Kerry with lies. Still others did not care one way or the other, but were determined to defeat Bush whatever it took.

Personally, I believe Kerry might have won had it not been for the SwiftVets, their efforts, and their $25 million worth of ads they ran in so-called battleground states. When I evaluate the nature of such a potential tragedy and ponder just how narrowly a coup d'etat was averted, my appreciation....for what these noble veterans sacrificed to do....grows immensely.

John Kerry has publicly conceded that he lost the election; but only because he was given no other choice.

He must now admit that he has lied to the American people, for 35 years, about his Vietnam service. He must now admit that he has lied to the American people, for 35 years, about his collaboration with the North Vietnamese Communists and his presenting to the Senate, and advocating its acceptance, the KGB-authored seven-point plan for American withdrawal (surrender) from Vietnam. He must now admit that his actions worked against the best interests of the United States. He must now admit that he has lied to the world about America and about honorable American veterans.

Real Americans, even those who voted for Kerry, must unite to force the truth to be revealed. Now that the election is over, perhaps some of those people can now view the SwiftVets ads and examine their stories with an open mind biased only by pro-Americanism.

While it would not be too difficult to find 240 people who could be bribed, generally speaking, it is absurd to suggest that ALL but nine of 240 veterans in one command could be bribed to tell lies about Kerry. The most rabid skeptic must admit it is far more likely that half a dozen were bribed with flying free all over the country, sleeping in luxury hotels, eating exotic cuisine in exquisite restaurants, receiving nationwide publicity, and experiencing instant expansion of their bank accounts....not to mention "confirming" some of the war stories they, themselves, have told to their friends and families over the years. This would accurately describe Kerry's "band of brothers."

My husband and I contributed ONLY to the Swift Vets this election cycle and it was definitely the most bang for the buck we've ever gotten for political contributions. We need for them to continue so all the Vietnam vets have the shadow over their service removed once and for all and so that the old media is exposed for what it has done to hide the dirt and attack Republicans so blatantly as they did in this cycle.

The mainstream media has to be outed for failing to demand Kerry's records.

At this point in time I think the old media is our biggest enemy. In fact they are not really "media" in the correct sense, they are merely a huge propaganda machine.

Talk radio and the internet are starting to change things, but we must actually get rid of the old boys.

I think it's important for us all to financially support the Swiftees and discussion forums such as this one. This new media needs to become the REAL media. If the networks want to stay in the game they have to play by OUR rules now.

Hanoi John and Hanoi Jane are gonna get what's deservedly comin to 'em in full measure it appears. - I hope so it is long overdue and if treason is not punished it will continue to grow and more and more troups will die as a result!

I'm ashamed that I was one of the silent majority who turned my back on them in the 70's . . . not maliciously but out of complete ignorance as to their plight. They're back on the front-lines fighting for us again, despite the slights they received . . . we should whole-heartedly support them this time and I'm afraid we will once again lose our passion in our post-election euphoria.

Traitors must be exposed. The SwiftVets are willing and able to run with the ball . . . we should be running a little interference for them this time.

I hope the Swifties and POWs for Truth are able to get the truth out. It is sickening to see how close our country came to electing a traitor and pathological liar with communist leanings. We need this expose to educate all those who loved their political party more than their country.</p>

I am a Vietnam Veteran (USMC, 69-70) and was duped by the propaganda too! For many years after I returned, I thought there was something seriously wrong with me because I did NOT have flashbacks, nightmares, urges to plunder the countryside, and other symptoms of PTSD.
